My general response to such whines is, nah, I won't keep myself away. Uproot what you want to uproot. Just don't uproot the grass yet.
Oh but it isn't a real argument as I've come to realize. It's a rant. Simple humanist rationale will not be listened to even if you say it. Best to not argue at all.

Best is to say, yeah, I'm an atheist. And I'll celebrate it. What will you do?

Whenever a sanghi makes a whiny ranty passive aggressive comment to you, there is no point trying to debate them. Cos it moves the Overton window to now justifying something mundane.

Don't debate fascism. Berate it. Like @nuts2406 did. 😁
Even if you give a nice detailed good faith explanation of whatever random thing they are pissed at you for, it'll be like water on an upside down pot. Nothing will go in. It'll just make more of a mess. And give them engagement & visibility.

That's how MRAs grow too btw.
20 years ago, MRAs were a random extremely fringe online movement. But they kept on with one way whines and rants. People very sincerely tried to engage with them, talk feminism and equality, in good faith.

They kept ranting and growing thanks to the exposure.
An ongoing example.
A bunch of sanghi accounts are attacking liberals for supporting hijabis in Karnataka and supporting anti-hijabists in Iran as hypocrisy.

Fascists don't understand liberty, human rights, women's rights, freedom of choice. They just want to attack & attack.
Many of these are straight up #QTbait. They know exactly what you will say to explain that it's about freedom and there's no hypocrisy. And they have their hands firmly wrapped around that goalpost to shift it. And put you on the defensive. And helpfully QTing their message.
Starting tomorrow, I'm going to start unfollowing and muting accounts that, despite repeated reminders of how QTing helps sanghis and SS is the smarter way, still keep QTing sanghi hate.
It's one thing to do it out of ignorance. But persisting with it makes you a useful idiot.
Sure, you might be an impeccable liberal progressive who stands up for the little guy and calls out the bullies. But if you're doing it continually using QTs not screenshots, I don't need that filth and aggravation on my TL. And I don't want to even remotely amplify it.
I understand the instinct to engage and explain and debate, especially when you know you are so obviously on the side of inclusivity and humanity, not hate. It's natural. But that instinct is exactly what they prey on. They never even try to debate. PM doesn't even do PCs!
Why it's important to be mindfully vigilant at all times on Twitter. This is where political stars are created now, for better or for worse. Don't create more haggas and mowtanis and preetiG types. Don't create more arnabs and Sudarshans.

Tomorrow if I say to you, I'm trying to learn boxing but the bag hurts my fingers. Can I punch you instead? Please please please. I'll not hurt you too badly.

You won't do it even if you like me.

So I don't understand why people still go on Arnab or Navika or RSShankar.
And getting into a QT debate, especially a multi-day one, is just like going on Arnab's show to be yelled at.

If you're going to get yelled at and trolled and called anti national anyway, why not do it on your own terms and own turfs rather than theirs?

Make THEM QT you. 😈
I say from personal experience that once you get through a couple of hate QT avalanches from fascists, you actually start enjoying them! I now get such a dopamine boost when these poopindia folks hate QT me or try to ratio me. I have them amplifying what I'm saying. 😁😁
So yeah, don't focus on hate QTing sanghis or magas. Make them hate QT you. It's good for the country and good for your mental health. And it'll get you a lot of like minded followers too. You have nothing to lose by your message getting more visibility.
I mean sure, they can jail you or try violence or lawsuits or doxxing. But that they will do even if you don't say or do anything wrong at all, say the most textbook correct and factual things, do everything right. Ask Umar Khalid and others.

Today in India's Fascist Spiral,

Modi-supporting cable news anchor picketinh a jail for an unrepentant man serving a life sentence for the confessed burning to death of an Australian evangelical missionary & his 2 sons aged 6,10.

Let that sink in. Image
This comes on the heels of Modi's handpicked successors in Gujarat releasing 11 men convicted and jailed for gang rape and multiple murders, including those of children.

Not only were they released, but they were garlanded as heroes by members of Modi's party.
They've gone from not even trying to arrest current violent criminals on their side to now actively releasing proper confessed unrepentant killers. Even stanning them by calling them religious heroes.

Imagine the incentive system this is creating & message it's sending!

NCR is about 1000 feet above sea level. It really has no businesses getting such deep stagnant flooding. It's happening cos of blind growth and development without planning even the most basic things like drainage.
A good time to remind all #Pune folks to loudly join in opposing the planned proposal to blast roads and tunnels through Law College Tekdi. That's natural hard rock, some of the oldest on earth, providing millennia old drainage routes for flash floods.

hindustantimes.com/cities/pune-ne…
Already in Pune, in the past decade or so with suddenly frequent high volume rain storms, we have seen flooding of the kind we only saw in coastal Bombay. And specifically in areas where hills were blasted, wetlands, streams or canals filled in to make buildings & roads.

I love how they say "caught on camera" as if China is doing this surreptitiously. And some jasoosi work was needed.

India has many many satellites. China is doing all this openly and confidently, knowing Modi is more into hounding Indian Muslims than worrying about China.
If you put faux patriotism aside and just look at objective facts, they are

- The India-China border has never been agreed upon by the 2 countries in several regions
- These are regions that were historically not tied to either Delhi or to Beijing. Both are carpetbaggers.
Neither India nor China has a real solid objective historical claim upon places like Ladakh or Sikkim or Arunachal. How many Indians can even name the capital of Arunachal?

Sure, we grew up knowing Indian borders so we think it is all India. China has their own maps.

Tonight's dinner will be 7 women at our apartment and me cooking steak for them. πŸ₯©πŸ‘¨πŸ½β€πŸ³
Sides were asparagus and mashed potatoes. Except mashed potatoes made like dosa potatoes. 😁 Yuge hit!

Seven plates for seven ladies were hard to fit in my tiny kitchen, but we managed! ImageImageImageImage
And of course, the main event!

My first time cooking 4 steaks simultaneously! Two on each cast iron pan.

Dear frands, they were so good, I felt like weeping happily vahchef style. Look at that sear and look at that pink. ImageImageImageImage

It's hilarious how every time US media reports on a "shortage", what they actually mean is a temporary lack of over-supply.

Having grown up in India, I'm always tickled by American standards for "shortage", "drought", "power crisis".
I spent so much time in the desert in California with the in-laws and other friends in this supposedly debilitating long drought. I never once experienced an empty tap. And saw 100+ golf courses always green in the desert in Palm Springs.

But whenever I return to India, within a few days, I have to make sure to bathe before the water goes out or the load shedding starts.

The theocracy will fall sooner rather than later. Iranian people and their culture and diversity and general joie de vivre dates back millennia. A harsh Islamic state there is simply not compatible. And will definitely fall sooner rather than later.

Iran is more like Malaysia than Saudi Arabia and this ayatollah state only holds on to power by brute force. But history has taught us that brute force is not enough in the long run. Fascists fall. They will fall in Iran, they will fall in China, they will fall in India.
