Q. This solo album is being released on your 10th year of debut. “10th year” and “1st” together must feel significant. What kind of result do you anticipate?

Q. You only have 44 posts uploaded on IG. You don’t seem to have much interest in SNS activities. What was the last photo you saved in your gallery?

it was so big I was taken aback so I took a photo. In the photoshoot location, I wanted a photo that said ‘My cool looks!’ but isn’t this so funny?

Q. Your title track is ‘Brand New’. A lot can be inferred from the title but we want to hear personally how you decided on the title track.
XIUMIN: I really put a lot of thought between a now b-side song and this one. I thought both had strong title track qualities. +

When I first received the guide tracks, the titles were ‘Brand New’ and ‘Feedback’. Just looking at the titles, I liked both. It meant ‘I need your feedback’ and ‘I will show something totally new’. +
Looking at it meaning-wise, there were more opinions that ‘Brand New’ would be good so I made the difficult decision.
Q. You must’ve stood on many stages already but it looks like XIUMIN still gets nervous.
XIUMIN: I really do. I always want so much to do things completely (~perfectly) so if I make a mistake, it really makes my heart ache.

Q. What do you think is your weapon (~specialty)?
XIUMIN: Something that I can say confidently is Passion! My personality is the type to burn energy. I like songs with fast and powerful tempo and that’s what I think I do well. I really use up all my energy.
