Samatoki asks Nemu what she's doing here, and she scoffs, telling him not to interrupt. This is Chuuouku's shame, so Chuuouku is going to handle it. Haebaru pulls out her mic to attack Nemu, and Samatoki panics, pulling out his mic too.

But Nemu tells him to stay back. She doesn't need the help. Instead, she pulls out her own mic and deals a devastating attack, cracking down on Haebaru in the name of the law. Then, to Nemu's surprise, Samatoki joins in, talking about crushing all corruption. #hypspoiler

The sibling's joint attack knocks out Haebaru. As it does so, Samatoki watches Nemu and realizes that... oddly enough, she doesn't sound brainwashed...

Nemu's squad arrests Haebaru, and Samatoki yells, trying to stop them. He still has business with Haebaru.

Nemu turns, blocking Samatoki's access to Haebaru, and addresses him. She promises to try and do something for Samatoki's boss and Juuto as she understands they aren't involved in this whole debacle. Samatoki looks bewildered at how clear her expression is.

She then goes on to say that she wants to change the world with the law and strength on her own terms. Samatoki scoffs, because she's surrounded by garbage. What can she hope to accomplish with Chuuouku?
Nemu can't lie. Chuuouku's hands aren't clean.

But that's the very reason she wants to work from within, turning injustice into justice and making a fair world for all.
That's a bunch of BS, Samatoki says. She's only been brainwashed into saying th-
No, she hasn't. Nemu looks him straight in the eyes.

She remembers talking to Ichijiku earlier, wherein Ichijiku asks if Nemu resents them for brainwashing her.
Nemu takes a moment to respond before admitting no, she doesn't, but she thinks Chuuouku was wrong to do it. She doesn't want to leave Chuuouku, though.

She's looked into the True Hypmics and thinks robbing people of free will is inhumane. Ichijiku agrees, but...
Yes, Nemu says. Sacrifice is required for the greater good.
Nemu may not be able to agree with every one of Ichijiku and Otome's ideas, but-

-Nemu still pledges to stand by Chuuouku, she vows to Samatoki.
Samatoki: ...Do you really mean it?
Nemu: Yes.
Samatoki: Even if it means you have to fight me?
Nemu: Yes. Even then.

Samatoki takes a moment before turning to think.
Samatoki: Okay. I get it. Go out there and follow what you believe in.
Nemu doesn't know what to say.

One of her subordinates tells her it's time to go, and she makes to leave. Yet before she vanishes, she calls Samatoki's name. He barely turns to look, just enough to catch her heartfelt smile and a "Thank you."
Samatoki bites his lip as her footsteps fade away.

Then, looking up at the ceiling, he vows that he won't go easy on her when the time comes.

Meanwhile, Juuto walks into the office of the Yokohama police department, drawing stares in the process. He's back on the scene!

As his coworkers congratulate him on his return, another BARRELS over to him as fast as his legs can carry him and, wheezing, asks Juuto what on earth he did. Say what now? The coworker pants that the new deputy director of the CCAB is here, and...

But he can get new further when a certain someone claps her hands together and congratulates Mr. Handsome on getting his job back. Yes, there's a new sheriff in town [sorry], and it's none other than Honobono.

She thanks him for all his help in cleaning up some... unwanted elements and walks away, tittering. As she goes, Juuto thinks that the trouble's only just beginning.

Meanwhile, Samatoki calls on his boss. He's here to ask for a leave of absence.

For the DRB? Nah. Samatoki's got another objective. As he leaves, he pounds his fist on the wall outside Katen's office. He's going to fucking destroy Chuuouku from the ground up.

Later that evening, he and Juuto arrive at Riou's camp.

Riou is talking into a radio to one of his old squad mates, announcing that he finally has the info. He then tells MTC about his major and the plan to spring him, which requires winning the DRB. Only then will they gain access to vital data stored in the Party tower.

Riou says he'll take it from there alone; he doesn't want to bring the others into this. Samatoki calls him a dumbass. At this point, MTC is all in the same boat to ride or die together. Riou doesn't have a choice; he's getting their help whether he wants it or not.

After Juuto voices his agreement, Riou thanks them both with a smile. The three once again remind themselves of their various reason for targeting Chuuouku and then do a three-way handshake with their fists. This time, Samatoki vows, they're winning.

Meanwhile, the evening after the prelim matches, Saburou walks back into his room, dejected. At this rate, they're not even going to make it to the tournament. His thoughts turn to the mystery of Rei again... But suddenly, he's hit by an idea.

He rushes to his computer to message Number 9, his Plunderer contact [remember, from way back in 2018? The guy who got him hooked up with Gentarou information] and ask if he knows who runs the site. He gets a response quickly, and whatever it says makes him gasp.

He recalls Rei talking about the guarantee that "everything that you wrote down was true" [again, see way back in 2018] and that they'd see each other again later. He grabs his jacket and runs out...
...just as Jirou walks back in to Urumi's bar, looking pensive.
