I’m one of them. One of the 500k with low immunity, so I can’t make many (if any) antibodies to fight Covid in response to the 5 💉 I’ve had. I’ve shielded alone, continuously, for 2.5 yrs, but there are many of us who’ve had family shielding with us, so..

.. many more than 500k are affected.. lost jobs, businesses, education and social lives. For me, the most painful part has been feeling abandoned, of no value, dismissed and expendable. It’s heartbreaking.
We desperately need EVUSHELD, and we turn every angle..

..upside down. There is no valid reason to refuse it, and it will help you with your top four objectives.. A, B, C & D. Please consider adding E for EVUSHELD to that list PDQ. Winter Covid is on our doorstep, and delay will kick all your goals into the middle of next year.

My only question is about the reference to the option of withholding Evusheld being cheaper? So many of us are reaching/have reached their mental health limit for shielding👇

@Martin24051921 @theresecoffey for yet another winter, so we’re seeing a number of ppl declaring their intention to disregard it now. I suspect those we’ve seen in our campaign group are the tip of the iceberg, and with a winter wave approaching, there is going to be an increase in NHS resources required👇

@devisridhar Trade-offs should not include the social murder that has taken place in this country. Since the MHRA approved Evusheld in March, 500 immuno compromised died in the first 3 mths, only 13.2% eligible patients had access to Sotrovimab, 27% of ICU beds are occupied by CEVs👇

@devisridhar We are 26 times more likely to die from Covid, our best chance of survival is to continue shielding.. 2.5 years now, and counting. Many of us cannot avoid the now terrifying prospect of attending hospital appts, using public transport, and as for using a dentist or optician? 👇

@devisridhar There are no effective mitigations to protect us; many of us are seronegative in response to the vaccines, and we are under increasing pressure from anti-maskers to stop wearing our respirators. They don’t bother me, but many are feeling intimidated by aggressive bullies.👇

The only tweeps I see talking about Evusheld are the usual suspects.. my campaign buddies from @evusheld4theuk , talking about how awful our immuno compromised lives are in solitary confinement, behind our masks, b/c our broken immunity interferes with our ability to👇

respond to the million vaccines we’ve had. What we need is EVUSHELD. Govt says no. Wait. 34 other countries already have it, so as you can imagine, we’re (all 500,000 of us) all pretty miffed. Not to mention dying before our time, 26 times as much as your average person.
Now..👇

what you may not know is that the govt’s refusal affects you, too…
If you need an ambulance or ICU care this winter, b/c we’re taking up the space,
If the next few variants come along and make you sick.. we probably made them. Not on purpose, of course, but we can’t help it.👇

Heard of Evusheld? Why is it important to you if you’re not immune compromised? If you’re not bothered that the govt’s refusal to supply it affects you, too, scroll on by. Otoh, if you want to know why you are at risk, grab a brew and settle in for a bit of a thread👇

There are three ways that I can think of in which you could be put at risk if immuno compromised ppl are not given Evusheld now..
Firstly, if you, or anyone you care about, needs emergency medical help this winter, you need to be aware of this, and joining our fight👇

You probably know that vaccines are meant to stimulate your body to create antibodies to fight whatever pathogen you took the vax for. Ppl with weakened immune systems (c. 500,000 in the UK) can’t do that effectively, if at all, so all 5 of the covid vaccines have failed for..👇
