Toyota will only produce 800,000 cars in October because of a chip shortage

Toyota Motor Corp said Thursday it plans to produce about 800,000 vehicles worldwide in October, about 100,000 less than its average monthly production plan because of a shortage of semiconductors.

The world's largest automaker by sales volume said last month that it planned to produce about 900,000 cars a month from September through November.

Now it expects to produce an average of about 850,000 cars a month from October through December due to supply chain problems, the company said.
Still, Toyota is sticking to its goal of producing 9.7 million vehicles worldwide for the current fiscal year through March 2023.

JPMorgan: China's metaverse economy could reach $4 trillion

The metaverse will have "profound implications" for China and will greatly impact gaming, advertising and e-commerce, according to a JPMorgan research report.

The digital world will offer an improved user experience across various Internet business models. According to the bank's bullish scenario, the metaverse could triple the size of China's online gaming market to $131 billion from $44 billion.

Half of the 10 cities with the most millionaires are in the United States.

But a closer look reveals that New York City lost 12% of its wealthy in the first half of 2022, while the San Francisco area saw a 4% increase. London, which ranks fourth, saw a 9% decline. The report defines millionaires as people with investable assets of $1 million or more.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are also among the cities with the fastest-growing number of millionaires. The emigration of wealthy Russians has also contributed to the UAE's record influx.
