#IAmAmberHeard because I told the truth about Cary Fukunaga and was inundated with harassment online, couldn't function for weeks because of it, and after one year and three more women coming forward about him, he has taken no accountability for his actions.
I deleted a lot of the comments and blocked the people who sent me these. But vomit emojis and accusations of "ruining a man's career" were common themes.
This was the story I did that invited people to harass me online. One guy wrote to me that obviously people think I'm making everything up, because I had no career before, but now I might. thedailybeast.com/bond-director-…
There is still a misguided myth circulating in some people's heads that coming forward about abuse or harassment has some kind of inherent career benefit rather than acknowledging the actual terror and stigma of speaking out about anything like this.
Three more women and many more allegations and there has been little mainstream coverage of these stories. Little industry acknowledgement. Little consequence for him. More terror for those three women as they came forward. rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…
The fear of being sued because of what D*pp did to Amber has kept other women silenced. The terror of the online harassment has too. Because powerful abusers are reading from the same playbook and taking notes. It's scary for all of us.
