FP/M+ chapter 19 (maybe? Idk, it's not numbered. Might be a one-shot) came out in Japanese today!
Summary thread below:
- Super silly Hifumi and Doppo shenanigans

This chapter takes place after FP/M 4 which is so damn old (March 2019) that I don't even have a summary thread for it. So, as a quick recap, MTR went drinking together at Hifumi's club, Jakurai got drunk, and proceeded to wreck the place.
Now it's up to Hifumi and Doppo to put the Jakurai'd club to rights, which involves a fair deal of cleaning. Doppo, good roommate that he is, is giving Hifumi plenty of help. He's also complaining. Because wow! Jakurai turned into a beast from a single sip. #hypspoiler
Doppo's had to wine-and-dine his fair share of wackaloons for job, but this is his first time ever meeting someone so... well... yeah.
It's a first for Hifumi too. Tipping the camera a roguish wink, Hifumi imparts some trade secrets on the audience. #hypspoiler
If a lovely lady who patronizes the club happens to not be the best at holding her drink, he usually steers her into buying a fruit platter to indulge in. Wouldn't want her getting all drunk and rowdy on the man of her choosing, now would we? #hypspoiler
But whatever. They're not talking about girls, they're talking about Jakurai. Hifumi hypothesizes that maybe Jakurai's just got a ton of stress built up. A doctor's job isn't easy, after all, and Jakurai might even be worse than Doppo at bottling things up. #hypspoiler
That means there's only one thing for MTR to do - find a stress reliever for Jakurai! One that DOESN'T involve alcohol!
Hifumi grabs a very startled Doppo and pulls him into a triumphant pose. It's time for Doppo-chin and Hifumin to put their thinking caps on for Doc! #hypspoiler
Hifumi is, of course, all for this idea, giggling and slapping Doppo on the back. Doppo is, of course, already exhausted, but hey. He'll give it a shot (especially if it makes Hifumi stop whacking him!).
He asks Hifumi what's a good stress relief. #hypspoiler
Hifumi gives it some thought and then suggests sports. There's baseball, basketball, soccer (Doppo entertains some wild fantasies of being a sport star being an opponent who oh-so coincidentally happens to look like his manager)... you know, the usual ones. #hypspoiler
Hifumi then goes on to list some rather more creative choices, such as aerobics (Hifumi's really into it, but he's picturing Doppo dying in the background) and flamenco (complete with Hifumi with a rose in his mouth going "¡Olé!"). #hypspoiler
Hmmm... You know, somehow they just can't picture Jakurai dunking on Doppo's manager or shouting ¡Olé!
Well, so much for sports. Anyway, did Doppo know that weight lifting is in these days? Doppo spends a few panels imagining a swole Doppo- #hypspoiler
-complete with an ecstatic Hifumi cheering over his rippling abs, tight pecs, bulging biceps, and Hollywood actor pearly whites. This is all well and good until he imagines a likewise buff Hifumi happily smacking the shit out of him. Ouch... Yeah, that'd leave a mark. #hypspoiler
Real Hifumi, meanwhile, is pretty impressed with the thought of being a buff dude, every man's dream.
But, Doppo reminds him, they're not here to talk about Doppo and Hifumi's swoleness or lack thereof. So what does Jakurai look like under all those clothes? #hypspoiler
The two of them, horrified, share a vision of a massively muscular Jakurai adorned in a loincloth, a few lei-like necklaces, and a retinue of Hifudo songbirds like a Disney princess crossed with Arnold Schwarzenegger. People into men may have much to think about here. #hypspoiler
There's also an illustration of similarly muscular Jakurai, albeit dressed more modestly, dropping Doppo with enough force to shatter the ground. Either way, too terrifying for Hifumi and Doppo to want to linger on this idea for long. #hypspoiler
So much for weightlifting.
How about boxing instead? He's so stoic, he'd be perfect for throwing a few punches into a sandbag. Hifumi demonstrates with some creative airboxing.
Time for another vision.... IIIIIIN the red corner, from Shinjuku, we have... #hypspoiler
theeeeeeee SILVER FIGHTER!!!
Hifumi (Jakurai's manager, from the looks of it) watches awestruck as Jakurai steps into the ring and yanks off his fur boxing coat. An SFX covers his chest for modesty, lest the unscrupulous reader catch a glimpse of his nipples. #hypspoiler
To aid your understanding of this scene, I've attached an artist's rendering of this panel. #hypspoiler
Then Jakurai's fists turn into a blur as he strikes with frightening force and speed. Doppo, the announcer, loses his shit. Ill-Doc's done it again!
Okay, no, not happening. Well, so much for boxing.
How about... oh, cooking!
Wait, why cooking? Doppo wants to know. #hypspoiler
Hifumi explains against a backdrop of him cooking (and also Doppo coming home from work, tired and hungry, in the BG). Cooking requires a lot of planning, and it keeps your hands and head moving the whole time. It's a good mental workout and pick-me-up. #hypspoiler
(Doppo realizes this must be why Hifumi's always so laid-back all the time.)
Anyway, so how about it? Why not recommend Jakurai try cooking?
Hmm... they imagine a cooking show ft. a very pretty Hifumi complete with lipstick, earrings, and flowery apron. #hypspoiler
Show host Doppo introduces a request from a Mr. Irudokku, which as we all know is a classical Japanese name and bears no resemblance whatsoever to a beloved character, to make tuna sashimi in 123.456 seconds. Can our master chef do the impossible? #hypspoiler
Hifumi SLAMS the tuna down, cuts that fish with blazing speed, drizzles soy sauce over it and... Bam! Just in time, with the timer registering 123.456 seconds! Wonder boy's done it again!
Snapping back to reality, Doppo's not feeling it. #hypspoiler
Or maybe he's just not feeling Hifumi's gestured demonstration of cutting the tuna. And why a tuna anyway?
Because Jakurai likes fishing, says Hifumi. Duh!
Doppo vetoes cooking any way. Toss that idea too.
But, he says, his coworkers use karoke as a stress relief. #hypspoiler
Oh yeah, Hifumi says, the girls at his club do karaoke a lot too.
Doppo apparently really likes singing, although it seems like the times when his manager gets drunk and makes Doppo be the accompanying tambourine player are more stress-inducing than stress-relieving. #hypspoiler
Doppo and Hifumi are then suddenly gripped with the mad urge to sing a karaoke duet and break out into a wild song and dance number. I couldn't do justice to this if I tried. Go buy the magazine and look at it yourself. #hypspoiler
They sing (and act out) a love ballad about a person who's thoughts are always on the other while they're at work... someone who overdrinks while waiting for their lover to return... a torrid romance! Hold me tightly! Love between a man and a... woman, right, woman. #hypspoiler
Now thoroughly sung out, Doppo and Hifumi agree that singing rocks! You can get all your feelings out with a mic. Wait a sec... speaking of mics...
Doppo and Hifumi turn to each other at the same time. What if Jakurai RAPPED to relieve stress? #hypspoiler
That's it! They'll keep getting better and better as rappers AND relax. It's a perfect win-win. Heck, like this, they can even go on to win the DRB! This'll be the perfect thing to make Jakurai's stress go bye-bye. #hypspoiler
Doppo and Hifumi high-five and then walk away, arms around each other's shoulders, cheering and yelling. They can do it! They can win this thing! Just you wait, Doppo's stupid bald manager. They'll show you! #hypspoiler
The chapter ends here. Next month will be another oneshot ft. Gentarou and Dice. Don't miss out!
