They haven't asked for anything that is not actionable or even that goes against available legislative maneuvers by those holding the levers of power. They've demanded changes that would be very simple for the state of Alabama to put in place

Any refusal to do should be understood as a program of deliberate extermination.

This is one reason why people become abolitionists. Because of the constant refusal by legislators and governor's to engage with straightforward available reforms that would actually begin mitigate the harm. Bc at the end of the day as many have said "the cruelty is the point"

Also notably, these proposed legislative changes differ from those commonly put forward by reform oriented non profits, because they give pathways to eventual release for so-called "violent" offenders and they push back against racialized "gang" enhancements

These changes do not propose to just release the "good" prisoners, and keep all the "bad" prisoners locked up, because they recognize that no such dichotomy exists & that they all deserve some pathway to redemption
