This photo right here is the summary of how my week went....... PURE JOY❤ It was a week of testimonies only JESUS CAN DO!
4 years of living in Canada and here is my advise for future and new immigrants: #Athread
1. AVOID COMPARISON: Just as our journeys are different, so is our timelines for breakthrough. Some people are going to land their dream job within one month of landing in Canada, other will take several months, it's totally fine so long as you are giving it your best shot, don't
compare yourself with anyone and don't let motivational speakers, social media or your village people mount unnecessary pressure on you.... remember it's a new land and you are just settling in.
2. GRATITUDE- When it seems your journey is rough & tough, cast your mind back to where you started from so you can appreciate how far you have, ungratefulness will only mount anxiety on you & leave you depressed in the abroad, next busstop will become psychiatric home (God forbid)
3. CONTENTMENT- "Ojukokoro" is the number one killer disease many immigrants in the abroad suffer from. Living within your means will save you alot of heart aches and troubles. Living within your means allows you to save and invest no matter how little.
No body dey look you in the abroad, so don't bother impressing anyone
4. GET HELP- No one knows it all, so you don't need to figure it out all alone or suffer in silence when you get to a new land. Get help if you need to.... engage your spiritual leaders, career coaches,
mentors, recruiters, utilize the resources the gov't of Canada provides for immigrant etc. Prov 15:22- Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many "good" advisers they succeed.
5. GOD FIRST- Matt 6:33- Seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. This might sound cliche but this is the GOLDEN RULE!
There is so much more to say but I will stop here for now. So my people....
whether you are planning to japa or you have japed, here is a daily declaration Husbae and I personalized and incorporated into our journey: "HOSEA 2:23- GOD WILL ESTABLISH US IN THIS LAND OF CANADA AND CAUSE US TO PROSPER". AMEN!!!

I just read a sad story of a Nigerian boy who came to study in the UK few months ago and worked part time as a home care worker been sentenced to 10years imprisonment in the UK.
Full story: The boy was employed by a certain home care in UK for a patient who needed 2:1 care.
This means the patient has to be carried or attended to by 2 people all the time. Unfortunately for the boy, his partner was unavailable at the moment & instead of waiting the boy decided to single handedly carry the patient. The patient fell & the boy quickly carried the patient
up & back to the bed.He didn't make any report about the incident. The next day the patient passed & they noticed bruises on the body, investigation showed the late patient had a fall that was not reported. The boy was charged to court & will be jailed for 10yrs for manslaughter.

As an international student studying in Canada, you can get your permanent residency (PR) whilst still a student or after you graduate.
Here are different PR pathways for international students & graduates in Canada....... A thread🧵
1. Canadian Express Class (CEC)- This is the standard route to PR in Canada for international graduates. You must have worked in Canada for at least one year to qualify for this pathway to PR.
2. Federal Skilled workers program (FSWP)- You may qualify for this route while still an int'l student or after graduation if you meet the work experience, education, language and age requirements.
Here are financial institutions that give study loans to int'l students including Nigerians to study abroad. I have also included their websites so do your due diligence.

A thread on how to secure a job from Canadian employers recruiting foreign workers + link to over 4000 jobs you can apply to.
Believe it or not, foreign workers get hired by Canadian employers on a daily basis from all over the world including Nigeria to come work in Canada 🇨🇦
1. Job shortage in 🇨🇦 is real, so the Canadian gov't have a database of jobs from 🇨🇦employers who want to recruit foreign workers, this database is updated daily (a link to over 4000 jobs in this category is at the end of this thread) keep reading to understand how this works....
2. Canadian employers whose job ads are found on this database are those who have already applied for LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) to hire foreign workers to fill in labour or skills shortages. Here are examples of verified & ongoing recruitment, check the date.....
