JD fans like using the "I hit you" recording as evidence that Amber Heard is the "abuser". But, besides this, what this and other "incriminating" recordings of Amber show is that what she says on the recordings can be relied upon as truthful. Think. So:

when she tells JD in one recording that he "beat the shit" out of her, you better believe that she's telling the truth. Otherwise, why believe the "I hit you" recording and refuse to believe her here? Even more to her credibility is that JD does not deny it in the recording.

Similarly, when she says to JD here that she had bruises from his beating and that it's JD that provokes, you better believe it. Again, JD also doesn't deny her accusations in this recording, which adds to her credibility. He only deflects and tries to accuse her back.

Also, when she says, in a recording that JD made in secret, that she feared that JD would kill her during one time when he was beating her, you better believe her. Again, JD doesn't deny it, which makes her even more credible.

I could go on but I hope you get the point: AH's admission, on a recording, that she (reactively) hit JD lends credibility to what she says in the recordings. It also undermines JD's hoax theory cause why would she admit to hitting him if she was setting him up as the abuser?

On the other hand, JD's pattern in the recordings is to persistently accuse Amber of many things (some patently untrue like accusations of cheating) and press her to admit to her (reactive) violence. He also consistently chooses to neither deny nor accept AH's complaints.

This suggests that, unlike AH, JD's words in the recordings have low credibility. Indeed, it is often people with something to hide who often adopt the "neither confirm nor deny" attitude when accused. Plus, his pressing AH to "admit" to violence is...

exactly what you'd expect from someone trying to set someone else up on a recording or, at least, someone trying to deflect from being incriminated in the recordings.

So, ultimately, if you believe Amber when she says she hit JD on the recordings, believe her too, if you're unbiased, when she says, in the same recordings, the things that JD did to her. Otherwise, you'll be cherry-picking to confirm your biases.
