Russia has the huge problem of needing to come up with a founding myth for their society that isn't spiritually defeating and so they can't be honest about their communist past which means they can only partially accurately describe America's GNC.

They're like boomers in a way.
Spiritual boomers who still want to fight for what the west is now are fond of calling the latest iteration "fascist" b/c that's the bad word they were trained to use but really, the west is communist and ruled by an alliance of cynical grifters and true believing race communists
Founding myths are very important for the spiritual health of a people - people need a worldview that tells them they're on the right side.

It's a bitter pill to swallow to say "our ancestors fought and lost a civil war" but it's the case for both the US and Russia.

Simplified version:

Before the entry of the US into the war, FDR was waging war on Germany and Japan with all the power he could personally muster.

The traditional response to a state actor waging war on your state is to wage war on that state to dissuade them.
In this case, doing that was exactly what FDR wanted - both of those states treated the US as if it was already at war with them - but it wasn't.

The table of belligerents needs to have more than one party listed for the US and every democratic state - principal / agent problems
This pattern repeats in history - weaker in the past as the technique is refined but stronger in the present with other conflicts that USG is trying to get enough support to draw "the US" into.

"We want to make <> an inclusive environment that welcomes everyone" decodes to "we will cede rulership to the person willing to pretend to have the highest neuroticism"

Every progressive knows this is what that means without knowing.
How can you tell? Because they never have any response other than dismissal to the counterargument "these rules actually make *me* feel unwelcome" - they're *eager* to have that be the case.

The point is to set up a rule that can be exploited.
This is wider than hobby drama and actually traces back to the idea of "hostile work environment" where it's a weapon that can be used to take over corporations from within with no formal authority.

People are then internalize this model and it reshapes their thinking.

The real problem here is that we're starting from inconsistent premises and end up with unanswerable questions because of the embedded contradictions.

...

(read PoliMath's thread for an idea of the fracture points)
Here's what you actually want:

People are free to speak because they're secure and the government is secure and anyone who speaks can reasonably assumed not to be an enemy

Here's what we have:

A cold civil war, words are weapons in it
Why are we in a cold civil war? Because we have an oligarchic government (in the Aristotelian sense) and entry into the oligarchy is gated on proving adherence to the state religion and the state religion is based around hating anyone productive and civilized.

🧵 breaking down a specific Regime deception via a frequently used tactic

A "credible" outfit puts out technically true statements implying a false conclusion

Later the unsophisticated people repeat the false claim because they lack the ability to see exactly what was supported
This ties into another phenomenon you see on the left - the lefty who hangs on to a past Current Thing even when that Current Thing was discredited.

No leftist is ever embarrassed to be on the same team as someone like this and they never helpfully correct the error.
People still believe in the "pee tape" and "nutrition causes IQ gaps" and "school funding explains performance gaps" and the classic "in this era of budget cuts..." others will think up other examples but all of those claims are simply false but there's never a correction.

So there's this classic comic that goes around the internet about which dystopia we're headed towards (or are already in) - Brave New World or 1984 but our system is adaptable.

Women get BNW, men get 1984.
Women are dominated and controlled by their need to conform and the relentless drive to compare themselves to the rest of the herd to make sure they're not standing out - the internet now makes them aware of the best day of tens of thousands of women that they don't live up to
Men get whisper networks and surveillance and speech reporting and thoughtcrimes...

This perspective is understandable but mostly wrong.

*You cannot reward the (R) coalition with money taken from (D) voter coalition b/c the (D) voter coalition is parasitic*

Trump did reward his voters but by beating back the bureaucracy to allow jobs and cheap energy.
Ultimately that's a loser in politics because you can't give a stream of it - though GOPe try via making "tax cuts" their centerpiece (a vague stab at patronage)

What he needs to do is take power so the (D) coalition doesn't get to set the terms as "how much to bleed (R) voters"
Even his absurd stuff like allowing DoJ to go after his supporters and doing "criminal justice reform" was because his voters themselves are part suckers for that kind of thing and need that kind of "anti-racist" shield.
