There is a smearing campagne against me running on Twitter since months, as Russian accounts accuse me in "helping to evade sanctions" while I worked for a German consulting company in Feb 2014 - Jun 2015. The truth is opposite. 1/x

1) In Feb 2014 - Jun 2015 I worked for a German companies group which included business consulting in Russia, Ukraine, Kazskhstan, Poland, Germany and Belarus. It was not a Russia business. We had a strong Ukraine branch, and I was personally involved in promoting of Ukraine. 2/x

2) As sanctions (first against the Yanukovich clan, later against Russian persons and entities) were proclaimed, my role in sanctions consulting was to create a team of colleagues who would give our clients the STRICTEST advises on sanctions compliance. In my interviews... 3/x

3) ...and in our newsletters I urged to not even try to evade sanctions, and to care even about reputational risks. I pointed out, that any attempt to evade sanctions is punishable, and urged to cut all suspicious contacts.This led to fierce reaction by one GER business union 4/x

4) For understanding: it was early stage of the sanctions, 2014. Many Western companies did business in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan etc. Many were small and medium family companies, with no sanctions expertise. I helped them to follow the law and to identify and cut bad ties 5/x

5) It was not about Russia only. It was about the whole market, including Ukraine (see above). How to follow the rules. How to cut ties with Yanukovich, Azarov. How to be on the good side. The fact, that now some people try to twist reality and accuse me in CRIMES is evil. 6/x

6) Anyone who read my interviews from 2014-15 can see this. Here I describe my work in Sept 2014 saying: our clients do not to violate any rules, we check everything for them + cut risks, and if we have doubts, we forward the clients to German authorities for clarity. 7/x

7) So, finalising:
7.1) I worked for both RU and UKR markets (and many others) in 2014-15
7.2) My work was (there is tons of evidence) to support the sanctions practice as far as possible, cutting any tie to sanctioned persons or entities;
7.3) Other accusations is pure lie. END

A fun detail: the @welt Moscow journalist @lokshin tweets about me spreading rumours (which are not true, look my thread above, and it was very easy for any journo to check it), but blocks me, so I neither see, nor can cannot comment on his insinuation.
