Some long shutter experiments on prayer wheels during a trip to Himachal in 2010.
Chose this today since AAP has made a minister to resign for attending a mass conversion to Buddhism event, following protests from BJP.

There's no point in taking a 'still' photograph when Zakir Hussain is in full flow. So, a long exposure shot seemed the best option.

An attempt to map the traffic through Wayanad's Thamarassery Churam at night. Without a tripod, this few second exposure shot from the top viewpoint was all that I could manage. (2016)
One thing that struck me from the trailer of #KeralaStory is how there is not a single frame that reminds you of Kerala in there. Evidently made by an outsider who has hardly any understanding of the state or ever visited it. It is a movie made by an outsidrr for outsiders
The target audience of #keralastory are not Malayalis, but the vast mass of people up north, for whom the fake claims made in the movie would be familiar from the constant propaganda about Kerala they get through godi media and saffron whatsapp groups.
The usual arguments of freedom of expression do not apply for such poisonous works as #keralastory ,which targets an entire state with fake propaganda and can put the lives of Malayalis working in other states in danger. Disallowing screenings is the least that can be done
Innocent's iconic roles and memorable sequences have all found an independent existence outside of the films they were a part of ..Many of his lines are now part of our daily lingo ... (A thread) 1. Mannar Mathai's mundu scene in Ramji Rao Speaking...("Nee mundu.." )
2. Kittunni's lottery scene from Kilukkam, followed by his hilarious outburst against Thilakan and the apologetic return later
3. Lineman Kurup's expressions in the thenga udakkal scene from Mithunam...and the ISI mark/slap scene with CI Paul.

After trampling upon labour laws, the sanghi-corporate nexus is using the pandemic for their next item in their predictable agenda-mindless privatisation.
The steps announced by Nirmala Sitharaman today. Selling off public sector under the garb of a "Stimumlus package"
1. Private sector companies shall be able to utilise ISRO facilities (No "national security" issues now?)
2. Power distribution companies in Union Territories to be privatised to improve "sub-optimal performance of discoms" (Remember the performance of Reliance discom?)
3. Six more aiports to be privatised. The govt anticipates Rs.13,000 cr additional invstmnt by pvt players in 12 airports. The AAI has awrdd 3 airports out of 6 for operation and maintenance on PPP basis and auction of six more aiports in second round bid to commence immediately
The first EMS Government and media — a look through the headlines & editorials. One of the common refrains of those who blindly attack the left Govt in Kerala, including a section of the media, is that it does not even remotely match up to the illustrious left Govts of the old
The first Government of 1957, led by EMS, is often pointed out as such an ideal Government. Going by that claim, we might believe that these media houses were supportive of the Government’s initiatives to correct many historic injustices back then.
But, a look at the media behaviour during that Government’s short-lived tenure of two years and three months, illustrates that they were even more vicious in their attacks with a load of fake claims and played a key role in drumming up support for ‘Vimochana Samram’
