Long COVID symptoms adversely affected the day-to-day activities of 1.6 million people – 72% of those with self-reported long COVID.
342,000 (15%) said their ability to undertake their day-to-day activities had been “limited a lot”.
The most common symptoms among those with self-reported long COVID were:
▪️ 69% had fatigue
▪️ 45% had difficulty concentrating
▪️ 42% had shortness of breath
▪️ 40% had muscle ache
Prevalence of long COVID was greatest in those who were:
▪️ aged 35 to 69 years
▪️ female
▪️ living in more deprived areas
▪️ working in social care
▪️ aged 16 years or over, not working and not looking for work
▪️ living with an activity-limiting health condition or disability
Of people with self-reported long COVID:
▪️ 16% first had #COVID19 less than 12 weeks previously
▪️ 80% at least 12 weeks previously
▪️ 46% at least one year previously
▪️ 22% at least two years previously
