Exactly 3 years ago, at this very time in my life, came a moment, that changed many things for me & my family.

With blessings of the supreme force of Baba Kedar and Maa Bhagwati; and prayers & support of my loved ones, v managed to overcome it…scars remain

Gratitude to all 🙏🏻

Lot of things changed & so did my outlook towards life & material things. Money never guided my actions & more so after that one incident.

It actually reinforced my faith in the power of relationships- lack of money can always be made up by relationships but not vice versa.

As soon as I got the news of the accident, I rushed to hospital with my mom. The entire journey from my home to hospital was a horrible experience; once at hospital I just ran towards emergency…found my daughter on her emergency bed-on ventilator,with swollen head & broken legs

I was merely staring at her face with an eye on monitor….Shell shocked & in complete disbelief. Doc said she is critical and nothing can be said. On the other side of emergency, seated on the bed was my wife- completely lost and in shock…badly injured witt both pelvis broken!

Few feet long walk from one corner of emergency of Max towards other corner seemed heaviest & longest…..walked up to wife & told her: Chutki is badly injured & I don’t know if she will survive or not…Can’t say anything….Wife senses were such that she cudnt make anything of it!

For next few hours until 12 or so, I was like a man with no idea of what was happening around me…. Wife was rushed to ICU on 2nd floor and daughter to first floor… I accompanied daughter to her ICU and cud only see docs and nurses running out….

As luck would have it, it was a Sunday night and hospital ward had Sunday duty docs. Besides, it was also a day of the marriage party of Dehradun’s top neurosurgeon’s son (or daughter).

But then too, almost every specialist - neuro, ortho, cardiac, nephro turned up at hospital

If today my daughter is alive, it is thanks to Anchal & Mudit- two strangers who rushed my daughter to hospital within minutes of her being hit. Anchal saw my daughter n wife being hit; ignoring cries of her shocked daughters, she rushed chutki to max with her husband on wheels

Mudit a pro musician rushed to her help; he lifted my daughter & carried her to Anchal’s car; that timely decision helped- Anchal didn’t even wait for my wife - who was carried by someone else.

Reinforced my belief that helping strangers on road, is repaid in one way or other!

Despite it being Sunday and late night, so many specialists turned up at hospital not coz of money but one relationship or the other kept pitching in and whosoever knew anyone, made sure that a specialist from Max checks on my daughter

By 11, I had many friends n relatives join me at the hospital; everyone trying to lend strength in their own way…..something I needed the most was there - the emotional and mental support to allay the fear of unexpected lurking in the mind, every now n then

Then CM of Ukd - Trivendra Ji - sent his Senior PS to hospital….at around the same time, began pouring in messages of prayers on social media after tweet from Anurag bhai. At around 12, after her CT was taken, I saw the extent of her injuries. And began a wait….20 days long one

This note, that daughter wrote and what she drew today, made me think of writing this thread…. Just to get it out of me….I asked CT technician, u must have seen such cases in past: do they survive…a Qn i wud ask every doc I met that night….No one gave a reply- justifiably so!

Worst was the fact that while going towards Radiology, the sign that was staring on me was the sign towards Mortuary….. a dreaded word and more so in my situation of that moment. As she she was rushed to ICU after CT, i accompanied her….

I had sent everyone home by then as it was already late… time must have been 2 or 2:30 then… I saw a doc and ward boy running towards OT…. I asked doc what happened…. He said we are unable to locate or sense one of her nerve of one badly injured leg…..I asked the meaning

Doc said it is feeble and if it remains like that then we will have to look at diff options- I asked like what….Amputation? He said I don’t want to go into that but unfortunately yes that too…. I said do whatever it takes, i trust ur judgement & God’s…..

After half an hour or so, he came out and told me that they managed to locate it and are doing some tests etc and it is feeble but it is there…. Actually her tibia had crushed completely due to the severity of the bike hit…..i heaved a small sigh of relief;doc told me to rest

It was then I realised that I was so lost that I didn’t even check my wife’s condition. I rushed to her ICU on 2nd at could check her condition at around 3 am only, she was crying in pain;but was in senses; she asked me abt Chutki and I told her that only God & docs can save her

As I was walking out of her ICU, wife asked again - bach to jayegi and i said - I can’t say anything. Trust God and He alone will save her…..

A lady security guard saw me and she handed over a blanket to me and said - bhaiya aap so jaao thoda and she took me to a Ex healthcheckup lounge and told me to sleep there…. I was tired and my 2nd ray of hope was found moment I opened my phone…..

I had a Watsapp msg from Veda-my rakhi sister,an American.That msg was 1st communication in 6 months & it read: “how are u my brother,I hope all is ok.”

I wondered abt d msg n timing - something in me gave me hope as I had named my daughter after Renu & Veda

Next day, after I met Dr AK Singh sir and asked her abt daughter’s condition…..pointing towards roof of his clinic, he said Trust Him…..Only He knows what will happen, rest i and my team will do everything. It is a case of TBI and nothing can be said…..

I was fasting and the accident happened on Ashtami, so my mom asked me to go home and break my fast as Navami was ending in evening. I could leave only at 4 but before I had the long stream of visitors. I went home and broke my fast, prayed and rushed to hospital again

At the parking entrance, the attendant asked for parking charges……Handing him a 200 rupee note I asked him to deduct for previous night as well…..he returned 120, which I would use over next 3 days. At the hospital, I had visitors until 11…. Condition of doc remained critical

Again at night, I met the same lady guard and she gave me a blanket and told me bhaiya aap wahin chale jaao and so jaao thoda. Mere paas aapka number hai aur agar kuch zaroorat padi to main call kar doongi….

On 8th,I sent my wife to Mohali for acetabulum surgery. A friend accompanied her & I left it to friends to attend to her.

But before she was airlifted, both daughter n wife were taken to OT…as luck wud have it, both came out @ same time-one was sent to ICU & other to Mohali

I was literally torn apart but desire to see my daughter alive kept me going. Wife’s surgery was successful but daughter continued to be critical. I asked Dr Singh if I can tie a thread on her & after his nod until her discharge, the bag underneath her pillow kept getting bigger

On the 6th day as i was driving to hospital with my mom, i asked my mom-“how come u r so calm, what u think?” She said “because I know everything will be alright; Maa Bhagwati will save her”- that trust bolstered my own…..

As I reached parking gate,I realised that I had no money left in my wallet -200 was over by 5th day. I took 500 from mom & paid it to the attendant.

That day I decided to check my hospital bill and it had swelled up 7 lakhs already. But hospital had not asked me once abt money

Again, the conversation at parking gate and later with the billing staff, reinforced my personal belief that even if u r short of money, your relationships can carry u in ur worst phase - only condition is that u must carry positive balance in your relationship bank

By the time daughter n wife recovered, my bill had crossed 26 lakhs; it was thanks to my relationships that I cud pay my bill- part came from insurance, through credit card, savings, help from friend n a part from relief fund. My honesty paid me when I needed it most!

Here I must mention how so many good folks of twitter prayed for my daughter. Not a day went by without my receiving a courier of Prasad, Vibhuti, blessings from across India. So many of u conducted Yagna and puja at perhaps every big temple-which is y her bag kept getting bigger

One story that I want to mention to end this thread is that of how Suren bhai sent me a pic of Parmacharya Ji & asked me to keep it near my Chutki. Someone sent me same pic on DM & I did that. Recently, I went to SriRangam for Rangesh’s son Upanayan sanskar & from there to Kanchi

At Kanchi, I was asked by Shri Ajit Ji to visit a Veda Pathshala outside Kanchi as Parmacharya Ji stayed there in maun for 9 months. As I reached there, the manager started talking to us in Hindi and asked my reason of coming over to Kanchi.

I told him that I wanted to visit Maa Kamakshi & The Mutt. He said kya hua tha….I said blessings of Maa Kamakshi & Parmacharya Ji saved daughter’s life, so I came. Later,I came to know that he was the one who constructed Max Dehradun-hospital that treated my daughter!

It was a sign that everything happened by design…..I was at the other end of India to undertake a trip of gratitude - at a place of Parmacharya Ji- & there I met one who helped construct hospital that saved my daughter. For 33+ days, Swamigal’s pic remained by my daughter’s bed

I know it wasn’t an easy time but as I said my relationships, my deeds and that of my family as well as blessings of everyone helped me overcome a serious crisis. My faith in my Bhagwan was my biggest strength and also the support of my family, friends and relatives. #Gratitude
