Starting November 15 2022, until December 31 2023, if you’re an international student and have a study permit with off-campus work authorization, there will no longer be any limit on the hours you can work.
You can benefit from this change if:
✅ your study permit has already been issued
✅ your study permit has been approved but you have not arrived in Canada yet
✅ you submitted a study permit application before October 7, 2022, and are awaiting approval

International Students: as we transition back to pre-pandemic requirements, we are extending distance learning measures to pursue your studies online from outside Canada while remaining eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) until August 31, 2023.

If you’re already studying online from outside Canada, or you submit a study permit application before August 31, 2022, you will still be able to complete up to 100% of your program online without affecting PGWP eligibility.
If you start a program between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023, or apply for a study permit before August 31, 2023, you will be able to complete up to 50% of your program online from outside Canada without affecting PGWP eligibility.

We will end the temporary pause on Express Entry draws and resume inviting qualified candidates to apply for permanent residence in July.
Starting in mid-June, former international students in Canada whose post-graduation work permits expired or are expiring between Jan 31, 2022 and Dec 31, 2022, will be able to get an additional open work permit of up to 18 months duration.
Applications for the new pathway to permanent residence for essential workers and international graduates in Canada opens May 6 at 12:00 pm ET.
We will accept applications until November 5, 2021, or until a stream has reached:
• 20,000 temporary foreign workers in health care
• 30,000 temporary foreign workers in selected essential occupations
• 40,000 international graduates from a Canadian post-secondary institution
Please note: there is no application limit for 3 dedicated streams for French-speaking or bilingual candidates. We will accept these applications until November 5, 2021.
We've launched an ambitious plan to accelerate caregiver application processing and reunite more caregivers with their loved ones. Here's how we'll do it: (THREAD)
