1/2 @avucic and PM Orbán have agreed to build an oil pipeline to Hungary. The new oil pipeline would enable Serbia to be supplied with cheaper Urals crude oil, connecting to the Friendship oil pipeline.
2/2 At present, the country's oil supply is largely via a pipeline through Croatia, but this is unlikely to be possible in the future because of the sanctions that have been adopted.

1/8 PM Orbán in BXL: It seems the last round is finished here in the offices of the Hungarian delegation. The prime ministers who have taken the final decisions have gathered here. We went through the final round, and we have an agreement, which we will announce in a moment.
2/8 I have to say that everyone has played their last card and verdict has been reached: Albeit great understatement, I would say that common sense has prevailed.
3/8 We’ve won. In a difficult period of pandemic, economic crisis, there’s no time to continue political and ideological debates that prevent us from acting.
1/5 Since 2015, the stance of the HU Gov’t on migration has been clear and unchanged. We have presented this stance and our proposals on several occasions. We believe that the EU and its member states must cooperate in keeping the looming migration pressure outside our borders.
2/5 To this end, we should form alliances with countries of origin, so that they are able to provide proper living standards and ensure that their people do not have to leave their homelands. Instead of importing the trouble to Europe, we must bring help to where it is needed.
3/5 We believe that Europe’s borders must be protected: External hotspots will have to be established to process asylum claims; we must ensure that the external borders of the EU and the Schengen Area remain perfectly sealed along all sections.
Hungary’s so-called “democratic” opposition jointly nominated a far-right Jobbik candidate with a long history of stomach-turning, anti-Semitic and anti-Roma statements. Here’s the shameful story in brief: bit.ly/35dZBmG
Dear @liliebayer@POLITICOEurope, Given your past reporting on anti-Semitism in HU, do you plan on covering story about left-liberal opposition jointly nominating candidate from Jobbik, a man w/a troubling history of making anti-Semitic & anti-Roma slurs? bit.ly/35dZBmG
Dear Mr. Roth @MiRo_SPD: You expressed concern about “rampant anti-Semitism in Hungary." I was wondering if you would comment on your S&D sister parties in Hungary nominating a far-right candidate with a disturbing history of anti-Semitism: bit.ly/35dZBmG
1/4 Signs are emerging that point to a coming second wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Europe. Like in the neighboring countries, we have a steadily rising number of infections.
2/4 As the first wave hit, Hungary was among the first countries to put restrictions in place that would slow the spread of the virus, and we are among the first again with this second wave.
3/4 The restrictions we put in place on the first of September do not differ from those applied previously by other EU Member States, and they are necessary in halting the future spread of the virus.
1/5 Apparently, the @euobs won’t allow you to call George Soros a “philanthropist” and point out the plain fact that many of Hungary’s critics are from Soros-funded organizations. B/c that equals anti-Semitism
2/5 As I posted, the @euobs censored my letter last week. They deleted (w/o asking me) this paragraph:
3/5 “What we have here is a cabal of politically motivated groups – more than a few of them, like Human Rights Watch, funded by the “philanthropist” George Soros – creating a political problem. They oppose the Orbán Government because
1/4 After a phone call on migration and the current war situation in Syria with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán called together his Security Cabinet
2/4 President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has informed the Hungarian Prime Minister that there is enormous pressure on Turkey, so they can no longer hold back the flow of migrants.
3/4 Following this message, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán convened a meeting of his Security Cabinet today afternoon
