❗️@PM_ViktorOrban at #Tusványos: Every year it's a bit of a challenge to figure out what to talk about. We know in advance what we're going to think about together, but the question is how to get there. The Romanian Foreign Ministry has told me what we can and cannot talk about.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… The document says we can talk about some things, but let's not make them look bad. For example, Western values, which constitute three things: migration, LGBTQ and war. These do not need to be portrayed in a negative light since they do that on their own.

1/8 PM Orbán in BXL: It seems the last round is finished here in the offices of the Hungarian delegation. The prime ministers who have taken the final decisions have gathered here. We went through the final round, and we have an agreement, which we will announce in a moment. 2/8 I have to say that everyone has played their last card and verdict has been reached: Albeit great understatement, I would say that common sense has prevailed.

1/5 Since 2015, the stance of the HU Gov’t on migration has been clear and unchanged. We have presented this stance and our proposals on several occasions. We believe that the EU and its member states must cooperate in keeping the looming migration pressure outside our borders. 2/5 To this end, we should form alliances with countries of origin, so that they are able to provide proper living standards and ensure that their people do not have to leave their homelands. Instead of importing the trouble to Europe, we must bring help to where it is needed.

1/4 Signs are emerging that point to a coming second wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Europe. Like in the neighboring countries, we have a steadily rising number of infections. 2/4 As the first wave hit, Hungary was among the first countries to put restrictions in place that would slow the spread of the virus, and we are among the first again with this second wave.

1/5 Apparently, the @euobs won’t allow you to call George Soros a “philanthropist” and point out the plain fact that many of Hungary’s critics are from Soros-funded organizations. B/c that equals anti-Semitism 2/5 As I posted, the @euobs censored my letter last week. They deleted (w/o asking me) this paragraph:

(1/6) You’re joking, right? You’re whitewashing Péter Jakab’s past and it’s deeply disturbing. If your readers would like a more honest look at this extremist’s past, behold these comments from the “former far-right” politician: “The Hungarian nation doesn’t owe anything to the Jewry. No regret, no reparation. If you don’t think so, then I’m worried about you, too. As a simple citizen. As a Hungarian for the Hungarians.” (2/6)
