In the Jon Stewart interview with Arkansas AG Leslie Rutledge, she said they had "experts" in their brief that supported their state ban on gender affirming care. The "experts" are not qualified and are ideologically motivated. Let's take a look at them.
A Thread: 🧵
There are a total of four experts relied on by the state of Arkansas:
Dr. Stephen Levine
Dr. Mark Regnerus
Dr. Paul Hruz
Dr. Patrick Lappert
Let's take a look at them.
Dr. Patrick Lappert is a plastic surgeon who's allowed his board certification to expire and no longer practices surgery. He runs a botox clinic in a strip mall in Alabama next to a Pizza Hut. He's never worked with trans patients and has no experience treating gender dysphoria.
Dr. Paul Hruz is a doctor affiliated with the hate group Alliance Defending Freedom. He objects to gender affirming care on religious grounds and doesn't care about trans youth. He stated "some children are born in this world to suffer and die."
Hruz is unqualified and the court in Kadel rejected most of his testimony finding him to not qualified. "He has never diagnosed a patient with gender dysphoria. . . conducted any original research about gender dysphoria. . . or published any scientific, peer-reviewed literature"
Dr. Stephen Levine makes his entire living on denying trans people access to gender affirming care. In his testimony, he's referred to trans people as "narcissistic" and has practiced a form of conversion therapy on his patients.
Dr. Levine almost entirely subsists on being an anti-trans "expert." He's in his 80's, rarely sees patients, and does not publish any peer-reviewed research. Levine gets paid more than $20k by earning $400+/hr per case he's involved in as an expert. It's about the money for him.
Dr. Mark Regnerus wrote the infamous "New Family Structures" paper in 2012 on same-sex couples and the effects on children with a terrible methodology. The paper was ideologically driven by animus and it attracted significant controversy for being flawed. austinchronicle.com/news/2013-03-2…
Regnerus was thoroughly discredited by this study and he has no expertise in the care of gender dysphoria in trans youth. He went to significant lengths to undermine LGBTQ families with a severely flawed paper that was driven by his animus.
These are the experts that Leslie Rutledge relies on in pushing back against Jon Stewart. It's no wonder she couldn't answer the question. The experts she relies on are bigots and quacks with no expertise on treating gender dysphoria.
This is why they consistently lose in court. They have no experts. Gender affirming care is the standard set by every major medical organization in the US. They have to rely on these hacks because they are driven by hate and animus, not a genuine concern for trans youth.
I've litigated cases with Levine, Lappert, and Hruz. I helped prepare rebuttal witness testimony against them. I mean it when I say these so called "experts" are unqualifed. Their bias against trans people is palpable and it'a reason why most of their testimony was stricken.
To close out the thread, I presented a peer reviewed paper at a UCLA Law health justice conference this past week dealing with this exact issue and how to push back against pseudoscience and unqualified experts. I'll post the link to the paper when it's published.

On Friday, the 11th Circuit issued a decision in Darcy v Corbitt that compels forced sterilization of trans people in order to obtain a driver's license that matches their gender identity.
As a basic matter, the logic of the court is bound by prior cases on gender affirming care that holds that transgender status is subject to rational basis and thus any policy discriminating on that basis can easily be justified constitutionally.
However, a basic flaw in the logic of the court is that it does not even treat similarly situated trans people the same! A trans person moving from another state seeking a driver's license that already has their birth cert. and passport gender changed would not need to surgery.
I received these threats this morning. They're signed off on Cyrillic and come from a Russian email address. It's the same person who has been doing this to LGBTQ people and schools for two years.
It's so clear this is a foreign influence op to inflame this story and divide people even further.
For whatever reason, I've been getting cc'd on these bomb threat emails since February 2023. They primarily have targeted LGBTQ people and schools, especially those mentioned by Libs of Tiktok. I've received over 230+ of them. I've reported them to the FBI and it hasn't stopped. thedailybeast.com/how-trans-harv…
Seems very similar to this. It's either a foreign influence operation using troll farm cutouts and centered around culture war issues or some random Eastern European kids. cnn.com/2024/08/30/pol…
JK Rowling funded and orchestrated a smear job to push a trans woman out of her job as head of a rape crisis center in Edinburgh. The media is running with it. The only harm they found was literally a random person being traumatized by the existence of a trans woman.
And the transphobic British media pushing it wholesale. The absolute state of it in the UK.
The main complaint was a terf who ended up working at a Rowling funded center afterwards.
This would all be hearsay in court. They literally do not have a single firsthand accusation of wrongdoing other than having a policy that doesn't illegally turn away trans people.
Elon is threatening a Brazilian Supreme Court justice after the court issued a summons to him which threatens the suspension of Twitter if he does not comply within 24 hours.
Summons with translation.
The Brazilian Supreme Court justice issued orders to comply earlier this month. Twitter closed its local offices to avoid compliance. Now the Justice is escalating by ordering the naming of a legal Rep for Twitter in Brazil or else they will suspend twitter and levy fines.
A federal judge ordered the unsealing of X Corp's investors by September 4, 2024. The list was filed with NDCAL last year and a judge agreed to unseal it on behalf of journalists. The list of investors in X Corp is not currently public.

The absolutely hilarious part about all of this is that this was a complete self-own by Musk's lawyers. They were attempting to maneuver around claims for not paying out severance for employees after layoffs. They removed the case from state court to federal court.
Federal court requires filing of a corporate disclosure statement. Plaintiffs specifically asked the court to force X Corp to file their list of investors. The court did so and allowed it under seal. The case was then remanded back to state court for lack of federal jurisdiction.
Twitter suspended the account that posted an alleged Twitter API leak showing a slur white-list for protected right wing accounts including libs of tiktok, end wokeness, and Andrew Tate.
So much for free speech.
It's like these people have never heard of the Streissand effect. It may have been a fake leak but twitter acting like this makes it look real and brings more attention to it.
Notable that the person running that account is trans.
Anyways, here's the post. They might try and nuke any account reposting it.
