if I have this right. Trump chose Cannon to something unthinkable in protecting the theft of sensitive docs, then schooled the lawyers on how to file, then exposed the actual list of personal documents, then realizing that this was not going well. Shut up. emptywheel.net/2022/10/07/aft…
By bringing in a sage judge to manage the stolen docs, she also confirmed that Trump personally took the documents, that he would have to self incriminate himself and that holy shit...a. bunch of classified docs were missing. Aren't there any smart crooked judges in Florida?
My guess his choice of Cannon was to delay at least 8 months and buy time on the DOJ but I sense that they may just have to take him in to find out where the missing docs are. There is also no confusion in the public's mind that Trump is guilty as charged.
All Cannon's presence does is remind us that she is bearding for Trump's crime with no strategy or cause . DOJ for the win:
"applicant has no plausible claim of privilege in or ownership of government records bearing classification markings" documentcloud.org/documents/2312…
"District courts have no general equitable authority to superintend federal criminal investigations...the district court fundamentally erred in appointing a special master and granting injunctive relief at all" s3.documentcloud.org/documents/2312…
The only mistake the Feds appeared to have is to be too lenient and not arrested Trump once they discovered he willfully withheld sensitive govt docs...and help him until the missing documents were found.
"law school dropouts, self-appointed political pundits or ambitiously litigious Americans, all seeking to make their way onto one of the most high-profile dockets in the country.... often bombastic and rambling missives, hoping that Cannon will read them" washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
"Cannon’s apparent bias may have jeopardized national security in her attempt to stall the FBI’s investigation. The Justice Department should ask Cannon to recuse herself, and if she refuses, it should appeal for reassignment of the case." wctrib.com/opinion/editor…"

It's taken a while but America is finally sorting out who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. Sometimes a pissed off octogenarian is a perfectly good role model.
Women are figuring prominently in America's effort to get back to normal and end the impact of codependent enabling relationships. Trump may act casual about his woes but James got game. theguardian.com/us-news/2022/o…
Liz Cheney might be the biggest surprise. Someone who committed political seppuku in public to bring a sharp focus on the criminal and seditious actions of her own political party. There is no reward for doing the right thing, only punishment. edition.cnn.com/2022/10/13/pol…
How can someone who wants to be Mr Twitler be so touchy about insults? Insults that came from publicly telling an entire nation to fuck off and hand over land to Russia?
MAGA’s new thing is trying to make the Biden/KSA meeting about quid pro quo. Biden says Abu Rasasa screwed him. The catch? Producer oil prices are down. oilprice.com/oil-price-char…
Oil production will reduce by 2% but prices at the pump here have gone up 10% in a shrinking market. Somebody else is screwing America. forbes.com/advisor/person…
MAGA forgets...The U.S. Constitution guarantees Americans freedom of speech. It does not protect Americans from the penalties of that free speech or from saying stupid things. Your tax dollars hard at work:
For nomadic people, the idea that you could control or own land would have been as ridiculous as controlling the sky or ocean. Those that used the waterways cut deals for passage, For pastoralists, it made more sense, Then the Europeans came with flags, maps and written contracts
The argument over land rights and history continues today. You could use the same argument about Israel or the Gulf nations. How far back in history do you go to resolve "indigenous". or "historical" rights? There is a cadastral trail. snyder.substack.com/p/russias-crim…
Land ownership, boundaries, grazing rights, passage etc. go back to Hammurabi. But aggressively used by Europe and the UK to grab land worldwide. In many case the most convenient chief would be asked to sign over land he hadn't even seen. For eternity. fig.net/organisation/p…

Trump is a dead ender, people like Alex Jones and Roger Stone are going nowhere in America's civil society. They can only hope to double down and remove the guardrails of law and accountability. The Gulf dictators are also on board since they rope a doped Biden on his visit.
