"Good morning sir .
Please sir what is your reaction on Appeal Court's judgement on Nnamdi Kanu in view of what Malami said that d IPOB leader was only discharged not acquitted".
G.O:
Two things for me.
Firstly, it affirms the opinion I publicly expressed in June 2021 that "something outside the law happened", with regard to the arrest of Kanu.
Secondly, it is an interesting judgment which explores the legal principle of "male captus, bene detentus"-
- bad capture, good detention. The judgment of the court is against the grains of judicial decisions that have emerged from British and American courts; and of course what I know of the judicial application of the principle in famous trials of Aldof Eichmann in Jerusalem in 1961
and Antoine Argoud in Paris in 1963. Perhaps, what the Appeal Court has done is agree with legal scholars who contend that bad capture doesn't not make detention right. And I belong to the School of these legal scholars. We await the Supreme Court pronouncement on the application
of the principle to our municipal law, if the FGN chooses to go on appeal.
My initial response to the issue of discharge and acquittal is not to speculate. I've not read the judgment of the court and its consequential orders; but if Malami SAN is of the view that Kanu was
was discharged and not acquitted, he should effect what the ordinary meaning of discharge conveys by releasing Kanu from legal confinement.
Five hours and counting, G.O is still waiting for following up questions.
Abi G.O confusam?

"We shall ensure that in moving Nigeria forward, no state or community will be left behind. Pursuant to its statutory responsibility to protect, our government will promote equity in power and resource
sharing. The federating units will enjoy discernible autonomy. Resources will also be shared equitably. A higher derivation paid to oil or solid minerals producing states will not be tantamount to other states not receiving federal allocations that should keep them viable.
We must transcend the rhetoric that bedevils a robust debate on some of these national questions.
“We will respect the principles of federal character, affirmative action and gender balance; but no longer at the expense of merit.”
Today, the G.O begins his 7-day analysis of @PeterObi's 7-point agenda, or what the G.O describes as the Obi Plan, OP. The purpose is not only to give clarity to his plan but to arm Obidients with the knowledge that Obi has a MANIFESTO - DECLARATION of POLICIES, AIMS & VISION
Production or the productive growth of the economy is key to any country's renaissance. Even our FIRST DEVELOPMENT PLAN (1962-1968) captured the imperative of production to development when it proposed $1.7b or thereabout for Nigeria's industrial take-off. And Obi accentuates all
of this with his star vision: PRODUCTION-CENTRED GROWTH FOR FOOD SECURITY AND EXPORT.
If you are asked what this means, it means anything which underlines and accentuates production and development, from
1. Increasing the pace of industrial development, securing expansive
I've been informed that the LP/Obi's PCC List has been pulled for review. Kudos to all who succumbed to reason. And justifiably so. Going forward, it'll be nice to see percentage increase in youths and women representation at the frontline of the campaigns - as drivers.
The media team is good; and it should be complemented by policy buffs/eggheads who will constantly deliver on Obi's 7-point agenda:
Production-centered growth for food security and export.
2. Securing and Uniting Nigeria.
3. Effective legal and institutional reforms
4. Leapfrogging Nigeria from oil to the Fourth Industrial Revolution
5. Expanding physical infrastructure through market-driven reforms
6. Human capital development that empowers competitiveness
What do we really want in this country? Remove the bad and replace them with the ugly!
How can anybody defend General Enenche who was part of the false narrative of the deep state/military industrial complex that masked the truth of the #Lekkitollgate massacre?
It is ridiculous for anybody to claim that he was acting on the command of the military HQ. Where was his conscientious objection?
See, ehn, we had a General Ishola Williams who resigned his military Commission for reason that the 1994 coup of Abacha was immoral.
How about my good friend, Col Abubakar Umar Dangiwa who 1993 resigned from the Army over the annulment of the June 12 polls.
These were conscientious objectors. These are the people we seek in the New Nigeria that is POssible.
To those who have enquired about my comment on Obi's PCC List, here: 1. I've gone through the entire list of 1,217 names or thereabout;
2. Doesn't appear that geopolitical and gender considerations were balanced out by the selectors:
a. The central leadership of the PCC is too southern Nigeria -top heavy with DG (SW) and DDG (SE). Given the circumstances of Obi's candidacy, G.O would have preferred the DDG going up north; or a swap, with Doyin stepping down for a northern DG. He becoming DDG.
b. DDG with Oseloka raises the whole question of cronyism. He didn't need to feature on the list. Kitchen cabinet position would've sufficed.
2. Doesn't appear efficient secretarial efforts went into the compilation of the names, with people featuring with only first names
I took this pix yesterday in my garden barn. Thought of posting it late yesterday to explain a few things about political party campaigns, strengths and survival. When each strand of web is carefully woven and strategically aligned, it gives strength to the entire web
and secures the survival of the spider. I had wanted to use it to explain the interconnectedness between parties, support groups, and candidates in electoral politics. If part of the web breaks, as the pic shows, then the system within a campaign structure is weakened.
Have chosen not to use it to explain our electoral politics as we march toward 2023 lest my intention is misconstrued.
One thing I know is that the party that maintains tight spider web and interconnects itself will win the 2023 elections.
