In a Q&A hosted by @Andrew_Friedson today, he affirmed that, despite the racism, sexism, and illegal activities that have been permitted at the Planning Board, the County Council does not have "concerns about the work product or policy proposals of the planning board."
Audio:
He also stated that the destruction of Black communities is "complicated," and didn't answer our question of what the County Council would do to ensure that the next Planning Board does not replicate the racist policies that were permitted by the last Planning Board.
Friedson knows that Anderson denied the existence of our ancestors buried in Moses Cemetery, used police to threaten and harass Coalition members, and ignored evidence of unearthed possible human remains and funerary objects. That's not all, but it's what we can fit in a tweet.
We sent him a letter earlier this week with all this information and have met with Friedson in the past regarding the desecration of Moses Cemetery, which he classifies as a "complicated" issue. It's not complicated, it's a hate crime.

We are thrilled that all five commissioners of the Montgomery County Planning Board have resigned.
For over seven years, BACC has been calling for their removal due to their role in the destruction of countless Black communities and the horrific desecration of Moses Cemetery.
We opposed the appointment of Casey Anderson and the extension of his contact, but County Executive Marc Elrich ignored and disregarded community concerns. He holds responsibility for the racism, sexism, and illegal activities that have been taking place at the Planning Board.
This was not a victimless crime. What about the Black community that has suffered the most under Casey Anderson's "leadership?" Sweeping this under the rug does not bring our communities peace. It is not how white supremacy should be dealt with in our county.
