Rachel Maddow became one of the wealthiest TV personalities in the history of political entertainment by spouting insane conspiracy theories about Russia coming to turn off the heat for people in North Dakota, but credit where due: she got this one right back in 2012: #FirstEver
"Good news!" -- Rachel Maddow about @TulsiGabbard in 2015, the year before this "far-right" figure resigned her position as DNC Vice Chair to denounce Debbie Wasserman-Schultz for cheating for Hillary Clinton and so that she could endorse the far-right candidate Bernie Sanders.
The fact that *this* person is routinely called "far right" in our political discourse -- just years after she endorsed Bernie Sanders for President and then Biden over Trump -- is reflective of how bereft of meaning these labels are, how their only function is punitive:
I've always had disagreements with Tulsi on issues, including foreign policy. I asked her about some in this interview I conducted with her in 2019, in DC, when she was still in Congress.

But calling her -- or Russell Brand -- "far right" is madness.

It's quite dangerous that neocons have erased from Americans' memory every historical event except WW2. Thus: every US enemy is Hitler, every war is an existential battle, your own only choice is to be Chamberlain (ie diplomacy) or Mighty Churchill (cheer neocon war policies). ImageImageImageImage
There are other events in history worth studying for modern conflicts, so we're not equating a fight to control the Donbas with Hitler's march through Europe and the Holocaust.

Key is the Cuban Missile Crisis. Read @KatrinaNation in the WP today on this:

washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/…
Shortly after I began writing about politics, I noted in this mid-2006 article that the neocons' primary strategy is to cast every US enemy as Hitler, anyone who questions their war policies as Chamberlain, and each of their new wars as WW2. It's a scam:

Fascinating new Harvard-Harris poll:

The 3 issues Americans are most worried about: Inflation, Economy/Jobs and Immigration.

People perceive the GOP's top priorities are also those.

But they see that Dems are most obsessed with a 3-hour riot that happened almost 2 years ago: ImageImageImage
The top most popular political figures in the US are Donald Trump (47%) and Mike Pence (44%). Trump is even, Pence is at +4.

Biden and Harris are under water by 8-10 points.

AOC is at 29% approval. Those with highest negatives besides Putin: Hillary, Pelosi, Manchin, McConnell: Image
Note: the most popular Dem is, yet again, Bernie Sanders, whose at 42% but with a net approval of even.

But the highest disapproval numbers (again, besides Putin) are Pelosi (55%), Biden (51%) and Kamala Harris (50%).

Use polling data, not Twitter journalists, to see reality.

The factory farm industry is one of the most destructive and grotesque by every metric: public health, environmental, labor abuses, mass and gratuitous torture of billions of sentient animals. It's destroying family farms. Don't turn away from this evil:

theintercept.com/2017/10/05/fac…
These rotted and filthy corporations -- Smithfield, JBS, etc. -- use their ownership of state legislatures to *criminalize* exposure of the atrocities they commit.

We know about them because of brave activists with groups like @DxEverywhere, who risk their liberty to expose it.
You don't have to be vegan or support veganism to oppose this industry's unspeakably cruel and immoral torture of beautiful and sentient animals and the massive threats they present to the public health and our food supply. Watch this mechanized sickness:

The issue isn't so much NBC and CNN failed to cover the materials in the Hunter Biden laptop about *Joe Biden's* business activities in Ukraine and China (though that's true).

The main issue is that both networks repeatedly *lied* about it by calling it "Russian disinformation."
I'll never stop talking about this and don't care if it's annoying.

This is a huge journalistic scandal: almost every major news outlet ratified an outright lie to manipulate the 2020 election and - to this day - not one of them, not one, has apologized, explained or retracted. ImageImageImageImage
This is why I say - and I mean - that these corporate news outlets and their employees deserve your deep contempt.

They constantly lecture everyone about "disinformation," about "big lies", etc. They're the biggest liars of all, with zero accountability.

The attacks on @DashaBurns under every tweet are vicious and relentless (though fair game for a major journalist).

But if this were reversed -- a female reporter being attacked this way by GOP instead of liberals -- a joint mental health and feminism crises would be declared.
It's amazing how brazenly selective and manipulative these people's purported concerns are. The same people who treat every criticism of a female journalist as a violent crime are now leading a 3-day hate mob against Burns for the crime of one mild sentence about Fetterman. Image
By the way, that MSNBC segment treating criticisms of Taylor Lorenz as a national crisis is the funniest thing ever -- in part because she hasn't stopped attacking them for it, and in part because they now have this at the start because neither journalist was a "woman under 35." Image

The censorship regime being aggressively fortified and expanded by Western neoliberal power centers can only work if there are no free speech alternatives. Conversely, the only way to defeat it is supporting free speech platforms. They are growing due to backlash over Big Tech:
The launch of our new daily, one-hour, live, prime-time show on Rumble - SYSTEM UPDATE - was originally scheduled for Sept. 10. Delayed due to our family's health crisis. It will launch shortly. We have a cable-size budget and have hired many. Still need a Social Media Manager:👇 ImageImage
This is all part of Rumble's launch of a network of daily live shows. @rustyrockets' has already launched: seen daily at noon ET. We will soon unveil several other high-profile hosts and believe it will compete with, then surpass, corporate news audiences
