Who's ready to start trying to decode some NBTV? I'll be transmitting some via radio waves soon, but the decoding is tricky... so for anyone interested, I've posted the original audio files to sound cloud so you can practice and get the hang of it. #radio #NBTV
First Step: You'll need to download some open source NBTV decoding software. This site has three versions. I recommend experimenting with all three (the NBTV viewer on the left and "The Big Picture" in the middle - try the older version)

Next step: Go to soundcloud to the NBTV audio files I uploaded and try to decode them (open the NBTV viewing software, set your source to the sound card of your computer, then just play the audio file straight from sound cloud.
heads up: this could be really fun, or it could be really frustrating... depending on what type of person you are... don't expect to get clear recognizable images right away... it takes some playing with the controls to get anything. Levels, Brightness, Contrast, Sync.
Here's one NBTV audio file: soundcloud.com/amanda-dawn-ch…

A few tips... if the sync pulse is lost in transmission (which it might be when I do it over the radio waves)... then you need to disable the sync feature on the viewer... you can only do that on the NBTV viewer software (the one on the left of Gary's webspage).
The NBTV Viewer (the one of the left of Gary's web page) is smaller, and if you disable the sync you'll get a rolling image... but I still think that's pretty cool.
Oh, and what is NBTV?! I maybe should have started with that.... it's Narrow Band Television and is the format that was used for the early mechanical television sets... very low resolution (36 lines) and low frame rate (12.5 fps). So expect pixellation and distortion!
Finally, if you are playing with decoding it (especially when I transmit it from HAARP in the near future)... I would love it if you could screen capture whatever video result you get, no matter how abstract, and share it with me. Abstraction and distortion can be beautiful too.
That said, it would be incredible if people are able to recieve and decode actually recognizable images!
Let me know how it goes!
