🧵Thread on two incidents of Israeli State-Sanctioned mob violence that took place over the past weekend, in Sheikh Jarrah (Jerusalem) & Huwara (Nablus).
Evidence of collusion by Israeli authorities (Military & Police) in enabling & facilitating the anti-Palestinian mob violence.
The organized mob violence this weekend happened following incessant incitement by Israeli politicians who are in the middle of vicious electioneering before the #Israelex22.
Evidence from Israel's Interior Minister Shaked, MK Ben Gvir, & Jerusalem's Deputy Mayor King.
First, Jerusalem:
Jewish-supremacy mobs roam streets of Jlm on Thursday nights. flag waving Israelis chant anti-Palestinian chants, and "look for an Arab" to harass or beat. Their goal "that Arabs will be afraid to walk around here" 13tv.co.il/item/news/poli…
It amazes me how normalized the anti-Palestinian mob seem to be on the streets of w. Jerusalem.
This was filmed Thursday [13.10.22] on Jaffa Street. Israeli police, always present in the area, don't even pretend to intervene against the mob.
Later that night [13.10.22] organised mob violence reached Sheikh Jarrah. A mob of masked settlers descended upon Palestinian homes in Sheikh Jarrah, answering to the calls (incitement) by Ben Gvir and Aryeh King the night before.
The attackers threw stones and attacked Palestinians. The Israeli police forces present seemingly let it happen.
More evidence of Israeli police watching as a Jewish mob descends upon Palestinian homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
If the attackers were Palestinian, immediate arrests would be certain.
This is something even a Zionist journalist in Jerusalem admitted to.
Same night. Video evidence of the Israeli forces escorting & joining in with the mob. footage of attack on Al-Kiswani home in Sheikh Jarrah.
The human cost of Thursday's pogrom in Sheikh Jarrah. The victim here is Mohammad Zahran, 53 years old, who suffered fractures in the skull following an attack outside his home by a member of the mob. The attack was caught on camera:
I was in the neighborhood the next morning. I saw smashed up cars, broken windows, and the area stank of the foul-smelling skunk which Israeli police used against Palestinians who defended their homes AFTER the mob attack withered away.
The next night, Friday [14.10.22], while settlers observed Shabbat, Israeli police forces descended upon Palestinian homes once again, assaulted and arrested residents. You wouldn't see this treatment on the other side. No? then please prove me wrong.
Moving on to occupied West Bank.

On Thursday [13.10.22], and by coincidence, I was passing through Huwara, south of Nablus, when I was witness to an even crazier pogrom by Jewish settlers, fully aided by Israeli soldiers. My live thread from the time 👇
Brief description: Masked settlers, armed with guns, metal rods, and rocks, would arrive in cars and start attacking Palestinian homes & businesses.
In the meantime, Israeli soldiers DO NOT STOP THEM, but instead aim their guns at ALL Palestinians and clear them from the area.
In a safe & secure zone, as Israeli rifles fired at Palestinians, the settlers continued to inflict damage. The soldiers did not stop them. For over two hours, the violence continued.

pics & video credits to @OrenZiv_ who saw it all too
Watch & listen. The Palestinians were not allowed near the main street during the settler rampage. The homes were left undefended. Anytime an Israeli soldier spotted a Palestinian, they would fire rounds live ammo as u see in this vid quoted here.
When we thought the settler attack ended, we were surprised with more. Several cars carrying masked & armed settlers came back to Huwara searching for targets. They were escorted (protected) by several Israeli military jeeps. Straight up complicity in a pogrom. Watch for yourself
The next day [14.10.22] another pogrom in Huwara.
The attack started when an armed settler opened fire at Palestinian homes, signaling the start of the attack.

The shots fired were a warning to Palestinians: "If you resist, we shoot you".
Once more, armed settlers begin attacking Palestinian homes, while Israeli forces provide them with a security zone. The soldiers all aim their rifles and shoot at Palestinians who dare resist, even by standing there. Two were shot with live ammo.
Imagine driving through this. Pure terrorism sanctioned by the Israeli Occupation Military. The vehicle was an Ambulance even, imagine being with your family in such situation...
Watch for yourself as armed settlers attack a lone Palestinian, likely standing near his own house.
Thanks to @yuval_abraham for a comprehensive thread here too.
While allowing settlers to terrorize and attack Palestinian homes and property, the soldiers shot any/all Palestinians who resisted. I witnessed this during the attack on Thursday [13.10.22], and saw evidence of it during the attack on Friday [14.10.22]
After the settler pogrom ended on Friday [14.10.22], the settlers, accompanied by military, moved to the village of Urif. They didn't find any Palestinians to attack, so instead they went on a rampage burning a school classroom and destroyed solar panels.
Photos from the damaged school and solar panels in Urif , west of Huwara.
There is a LIE that Israeli occupation soldiers keep repeating, when such violence occurs. They claim to not have the "legal authority" to stop or arrest settlers, when in reality the occupation military has the "legal authority" to deal with EVERYTHING in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli soldiers facilitate such pogroms willingly. No settler is arrested, shot, or even obstructed as they literally attempt to inflict bodily harm / kill defenseless Palestinians.

The ugly face of Apartheid.

I am a 29 year old Palestinian male.

Those in my age group are target for summary execution by Israel's genocidal forces in Gaza. Young males are being executed, often infront of family and loved ones, in a savage manner, by soldiers who are proud.

All Gaza, especially North.
They also get hit by targeted strikes, whether they're carrying their bicycles, flying drones to film a massacre site, or seeking to collect grass/flour to bring home to your starving children...

Palestinian men are being subject to a systematic mass slaughter.

Some of you never heard of #NeveYaakov settlement before last night's fatal attack. Having grown up just across from it, I thought to provide a couple bits of info.
I think its important considering this settlement's location & the fact its home to the "IDF" Central Command HQ.
In 1924, an American Zionist group purchased 62 dunams of land from Beit Hanina landowners. They settled it 1925-48. The population did not exceed a few hundred who lived peacefully before abandoning it as the eve of Al-Nakba when news came that Jordanian army mobilized to enter.
The settlement we know today was established in 1972, but on private & titled Palestinian lands illegally confiscated by Israeli authorities in August 1970 following occupation of E. Jerusalem. Prior, there was a Jordanian military base where land had been bought by Jews in 20s.

This morning, we went down to harvest the olives in our land in Wadi Al-Rababa. It was a wonderful morning, solidarity from our neighbors in Silwan and other friends in the city was apparent, we weren't alone.

However, the settlers nearby had their eyes fixed on us all morning. ImageImageImageImage
The settlers, also known as "Nature Authority" called the police, of course... they claimed we were in a "closed zone", and that we shouldn't pick the trees in our own land lol.
3.5 hours after we began picking, a large Israeli force entered the land, as if acting on the orders of the settler leaders from the "nature authority". The settler was first to harass us, demanding we show IDs, and the police continued acting on behalf of the settlers. twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Image

On Yom Kippur, the military of the Israeli occupation regime had raided the town of Deir Al-Hattab, adjacent to Nablus's east. They've besieged a home, and have reportedly shot dead one Palestinian and seriously injured several others.

Incase you thought Sunday's pogroms were an isolated event 🧵👇

Today, Silwan:

2 members of Sumrein family walking to their home in Wadi Al-Rababa, edge of Silwan, were intercepted by 2 workers from 🇮🇱Environment Authority (a front for the settler movement in E. Jerusalem).
The workers, armed, refused to let the 2 Sumrein boys access the path to their own home. Within minutes, twenty of those settlers, armed with guns & pepper, attacked the boys, smashed their car, and stoned their home. One from Sumrein fam is hospitalized with serious eye injury.
One of the attacked Palestinians called on the Israeli Occupation Police, who are usually in the area.

The Israeli authorities arrived and arrested four boys from Sumrein family and one from Abu Sneineh.
