If Russia pulls its forces from the other side of the Dnipro it will: 1) Be an impressive and hard fought victory for Ukraine 2) Make it less likely we'll Russian forces collapse in the near term because they'll have more defensible lines.
Of course, a retrograde across the Dnipro without functioning bridges would be extremely risky, and Russia may have to abandon equipment to do so.
