Rising to the top wasn't easy, nor was it exactly what he wanted to do. He didn't plan for his company to skyrocket so quickly.
He had just wanted to help.
Being tossed into an orphanage at such a young age had messed up his mentality.
No one wanted him. He could never quiet figure out what was wrong with him that made everyone look right past him.
At first, he had been defiant. He just wanted his home back. His parents. But he quickly understood that wasn't an option.
So he had been on his best behavior.
He only took what was given, never asked for more. He was quiet and patient and well mannered.
But still no one wanted him.
So he stopped trying. When parents would come, he would just grab a pile of books and slip off to a corner to read.
He drew, he wrote, he learned.
Thanks to the orphanage. He was able to attend school, and passed with flying colors, graduating top of his class, but he refused to be valedictorian. He didn't want the attention.
It was there in school he met his best friends, Wen Ning and Wen Qing.
They were outcasts.
There family name had once been reveered, feared, spoken with awe. But the head of the main branch from their family was a scumbag.
He embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars, treated his staff like slaves, harassed, demeaned, and apparently even assaulted people.
So anyone who had any ties with that man, no matter how distant, were kept at arms length. No one wanted to associate with them.
So Wei Ying did.
He adored the siblings, keeping Wen Ning by his side near constantly so no one messed with him. He felt like a sibling to them.
So he made a promise to find a way to fix their reputation.
And he did.
With scholarships he was able to enroll in college for almost no cost. He received his business degree with a double major in computer engineering.
At first, his company was small, nonexistant even.
The only employees he had were himself and the Wen Siblings. But they made it work, and it was a short lived simplicity.
After a string of successful, and wildly desired inventions, Wei Ying's business skyrocketed.
Yiling Corp. was on every news outlet, in every magazine.
Investors clamored to fund his projects, and soon, a small company of 3 people was suddenly a massive corporation with hundreds under his employment.
His company continued to grow, the employees thriving.
Wei Ying made sure they were taken care of. Living wages, benefits,
vacation time, paternity leave for both male and female, retirement funs, bonuses based on effort.
Not to mention the facility was 100% catered towards creative freedom. Slides were built in for those who didn't want to take the elevator or stairs. Nap rooms for the overworked.
Frequent company events. It's was easily rated the best company to work in Yunmeng. Wei Wuxian was a firm believer that the happier his employees, the better success rate. And he was correct.
Within 4 years, his company was known for producing more scientific and technological
advancements than any other company. He was proud. He credited Wen Ning and Wen Qing almost every interview, made sure the world knew how amazing they were.
He repurchased their family land and gifted it to them.
He was treated like family, he felt like family, but a part of
Wei Ying was still empty. He glanced over the latest magazine article, snorting quietly as he leaned against his desk. Ceo Wei Wuxian, highly sought after bachelor.
"Bull shit." He mumbled, tossing the article into the nearby trash.
Normally he loved company parties, but
he really just wanted to get home and curl up in bed tonight. That wasn't an option though. This party was a huge deal. His company was accepting a huge reward, and they were celebrating the holidays.
The knock on his door pulled his attention and Wen Qing walked in. "All set?"
Wei Ying pushed away from his desk and adjusted his suit, "But of course. You look beautiful as usual."
She rolled her eyes but smiled and stepped aside for him to exit. "Thank you. You seem stressed, what's wrong?"
"Just thinking some things over."
She frowned, "Wei Ying."
He sighed, slipping a hand into his short, black hair. "Guess I'm just a bit lonely."
"Lonely?" She frowned, looking at him in confusion. Wei Ying was always surrounded by people, he was charming, charasmtic; albeit, sometimes he could be a bit much.
But one look at his
expression and she understood. "Have you tried online dating?"
"Yeah, but it's easy to tell when people aren't actually interested in me."
She frowned, stepping into the elevator with him, leaning back against the wall.
"I've tried online dating, I've tried going to bars
and clubs like I used to in college.. but it's just not my scene anymore."
"You'll find someone, Wei Ying."
He let out a puff of air and shrugged, his suit jacket resting elegantly on his shoulders as they exited the elevator to the already lively party.
He really didn't
have the heart for this party tonight, but it wasn't an option. This party was a huge deal for the company. It was company wide plus some very important and influential investors and business partners as well as possible partners.
Not to mention an award was being given that he had to accept.
His dazzling smile hid the hollow feeling inside his heart as he mingled, chatting away and greeting the guests as the night went on.
After Wei Ying gave his speech and accepted the reward, he managed to slip out
of the banquet hall, stepping into the hallway. It was amazing how much quieter it was with just a door between him and the party. He made his way over towards the large windows, leaning against the wall as he looked out of the crystal clear glass.
He watched as the snow drifted slowly from the dark sky. Soft chatter managed to reach his ears, reminding him of the Christmas party happening just on the other side of the wall.
He remembered when he used to hate holidays. Especially when they involved family; it reminded him
of how unwanted he was growing up. The lonely years in the orphanage, the quiet pondering why he didn't belong in a world so large.
Then he met the Wens. He found a family. Wen Ning, Wen Qing, Granny Wen... He loved each of them, he was there for them just as they were for him.
Always grateful for their presence, for their love, their companionship, the lessons he learned with them. They gave him everything he wanted and needed in love, and he gave back just as much. He loved them fiercely, he bought their family land and gave it back to them, they
gave him a purpose and a home so he wanted to give back ten fold.
Yet despite all of that.. he was 28 now. He hadn't been in a relationship since school, he missed the warmth of another person, missed the touches, the assurance, the comfort.
His starlight eyes focused on the
falling snow, gently twirling his champagne glass.
"Care for some company?"
Wei Ying jumped slightly, looking over towards the smooth voice. How hadn't he heard anyone approaching? Was he too lost in thought? Not that his concerns were answered, because the minute he turned,
Wei Ying froze.
Only a few feet away from him was easily the most handsome man he had ever seen. Beautiful jade like skin, pristine white suit, soft black hair, and stunning gold eyes.
"I.. of course." Wei Ying nodded, straightening himself up and bowing. "I am Wei Ying."
The man chuckled and Wei Ying felt his knees go weak. He bowed as well, "I don't believe you need an instruction, but it is an honor to meet you. I am Lan Zhan."
"Lan Zhan..." The name felt so nice on his tongue. "Ah! You're from Gusu Lan Corporation, right?"
"I am."
"It's an honor to meet you." Wei Ying gave a warm smile, sliding a hand through his hair, pushing the strands back and letting them settle.
"Please, the honor is all mine." He tilted his head a little. "Catching some quiet from the party?"
He chuckled. "You could say that."
Wei Ying's smile was dazzling. "I just wanted to get lost in thought for a bit." His eyes shimmered lightly. He knew he shouldn't flirt, especially not with the heir of such an influential person that could be an important business partner.
But how could he help himself with
such an attractive person who happened to show up just as he was feeling the lowest he had in a while.
Lan Wangji stepped towards him, but kept a respectable distance between them. "Is it alright that I interrupt then?"
"I suppose that depends on what you want to talk about~"
And so, the night began to pass by them, the party completely forgotten as they existed in their own little bubble. Their casual business talk slowly slipped into personal questions, their bodies slowly getting closer as if they were drawn together like magnets.
Wei Ying's earlier pains were forgotten, his heart and mind feeling lighter than a feather.
By now, Lan Zhan was practically standing chest to chest with him, his fingers dancing slowly up Wei Ying's arms, earning a light shiver. Their breaths were close enough to mingle,
Wei Ying's finger's tenderly playing with the silk tie around Lan Zhan's neck.
"Say, Lan Zhan... Did you actually come out here to talk business?"
"...Would you be uncomfortable if I said no?"
Wei Ying's lips curled into a smile and he gently gripped at Lan Zhan's tie.
"No, in fact, I'd be quite pleased if that were the case." He moved his hand from the tie to Lan Zhan's chest, a shiver traveling down his spine as he felt the toned chest under his touch.
"in fact... I think if that were the case, I would suggest we find a more... private
location." He watched as Lan Zhan's nostrils flared slightly and he nodded.
"I.. agree."
Wei Ying's felt his chest burst with warmth and without another word, he grabbed his hand and pulled away from the wall, guiding Lan Zhan to the elevator with ease.
The minute the doors were closed, Wei Ying was pressed back against the wall, his lips captured in a searing kiss.
Neither came to the party tonight looking to hook up, but now neither could imagine tonight ending any differently.
Wei Ying barely managed to grab his jacket,
which fell from his shoulders during the kiss. The doors opened and Wei Ying pulled Lan Zhan along, not willing to break the kiss so they bumped into plenty of things as they made their way to Wei Ying's office.
He'd clean it up later.
Wei Ying didn't care about the mess in his own office, so when the kiss broke, Wei Ying's back to Lan Zhan's chest now as the heir assaulted the CEO's neck. Soft groaned left him as he shoved everything off his desk. "Fuck.. Lan Zhan your mouth is a weapon..."
A pleased rumble left the other who nipped at the nape of his neck. "I assure you it's not my only weapon."
"Holy fuck..." He mumbled, pressing his ass back against Lan Zhan's crotch. "Lan Zhan.."
"Yes?"
"Fuck me until I can't talk anymore."
"Your wish is my command."
Wei Ying was spun back around, his lips captured in a hungry kiss as he was lifted up onto the desk, his legs wrapping around Lan Zhan's hips and pulling him close, grinding himself against the other.
The speed at which Wei Ying's pants and under where were pulled off and
tossed to the side was startling. What was even more astounding to Wei Ying though, was the feeling of Lan Zhan's massive cock pounding relentlessly into his prostate. Hands gripping at the desk, head tipped back and legs wound tightly around Lan Zhan's waist.
His shirt was practically ripped open, now littered with hickies and love bites, his hips bruising from Lan Zhan's grip.
"Cl-close! Fuck, fuck! Lan Zhan!! Yo-your cock feels so f-fucking good! Wan-want you to fuck me every day, oh god! Don't stop!"
Lan Zhan's thrusts became more erratic as he felt Wei Ying tightening around him. "Everyday." He promised, pulling Wei Ying into another kiss as he pounded relentlessly inside of him.
Another couple of thrusts and Wei Ying was crying out into the kiss, arching into Lan Zhan as
he came, only another thrust before he was being filled to the brim with hot seed.
Wei Ying fell back against the desk, his head hanging off of the other side as his chest heaved. "H-holy shit..."
Lan Zhan ran his fingers slowly and gently over Wei Ying's stomach and chest,
trying to catch his own breath as well.
It took them a bit to get cleaned up and dressed, but once they did, Wei Ying found himself in Lan Zhan's arms. "I'm.. really happy I couldn't skip the party tonight."
"Mn. As am I." Lan Zhan said softly,
pressing a soft kiss to Wei Wing's temple. Neither expected to fall in love tonight, but given the warmth in their chests, there was no doubt that this was not just a fling.

Wei Ying's body pressed close to Lan Zhan's lips parted, eyes glazed with desire. His body was burning up, breath ragged. His mind fogged beyond recognition.
"Handsome gege, won't you take me? Sink your pretty teeth into my neck, drain me, I don't care, just please, bite me!"

A slow exhale is the only sound that fills the night air. No chirp of bugs, no calls of the bats, or chittering of the nighttime critters. Lan Wangji glanced at the body he laid carefully on the bench. Golden eyes trailed slowly over the exposed skin of the woman's neck.
"Okay kiddos! Time to clean up and get ready for pickup!" Wei Ying clapped his hands, getting the kids' attention. He watched as they scampered around, cleaning up their messes as he moved around the room, praising those who did well.
The next twenty or so minutes was spent signing the kids out, chatting lightly with the parents or grandparents who came to get their little ones.
He was sending off his second to last kiddo when Wen Qing poked her head out of her office. "Wei Ying."
"Yeah?"
"Lan Yuan's uncle called, there was a change in schedule so his father is coming to get him, he's just gonna be a few minutes late."
"No worries! Thanks for the heads up."
He headed back to the room where Lan Yuan was sitting patiently like always.
"A-die.." A-Yuan mumbled unhappily, clinging to his father's leg and hiding his face against his black slacks.
Lan Zhan frowned, gently running his fingers through his son's hair. "It's alright, A-Yuan. It's just a check up." He said softly.
"Wanna go home." He mumbled quietly, hiding behind his a-die's legs when he heard the receptionist giggle at him. He really, /really/ hated doctors. The last one he went to was absolutely horrible.
He was loud, and rude, and he was always so rough.
Not to mention he always
argued with his a-die, and never believed A-Yuan when he wasn't feeling well.
The last straw was when A-Yuan went to get his shots last time, Lan Wangji wasn't allowed back due to the examine room being too small, and A-Yuan had been freaked out by the needle and how rough
"Bring him here." Wei Wuxian commanded, leaning back on the throne, one leg crossing over the other, his expression calm and cool.
The guards spared each other a glance before they hesitantly grabbing the male in question, forcing him in front of
Wei Wuxian, who gestured with his finger. Another glance between the guards before they forced him on his knees.
Wei Wuxian's expression relaxed, an easy grin settling on his lips as he lifted his foot, tipping his chin up to capture that piercing golden gaze.
"So, Lan Zhan,
finally at my mercy."
Lan Zhan let out a slow breath. "And what do you plan to do, your majesty?"
His eyes twinkled slightly. "I'm going to make you mine." He leaned forward, fingers gracing his cheek before he paused when he heard someone behind him clear their throat.
"A-Zhan, this is my boyfriend, Jiang Wanyin." Huan introduced, his hand resting sweetly on Jiang Wanyin's lower back,
The two shook hands and Lan Zhan nodded lightly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Jiang Wanyin, thank you for taking care of my brother."
"I assure you, he doesn't
doesn't need anyone to take care of him."
Lan Huan smiled and kissed his boyfriend's cheek tenderly. "I thought you said you were here with your brother?"
"Ah, yeah, he's at that stupid arcade that's by the food court. I know you said your brother doesn't like crowds, so when
you said you were nearby, I came to the quietest part of the mall."
A soft expression graced Lan Huan's features, like he was swooning all over again. "Thank you. I know we sprung visiting on you last minute, but when you said you and your brother were at the mall,
