87 children waiting to see a doctor in my emergency department at 10 pm. This speaks nothing of those already under our care. What do you want us to do??? To see this many patients we would need 4-6 MORE doctors working right now. Currently we have 4. We need a solution. 
The wait time is ~8 hours now, for those who stay it’ll likely be 16+ hours. It’s only October. What will we do in February which is historically 10- 20% busier?#canadawaits #canadianhealthcare
update ~9 hours later, as predicted, the wait time is >16 hours. So that family was registered at ~330pm yesterday but likely arrived much earlier to navigate the long triage line. Many have given up and gone home without the assessment/care they wanted/needed.
Our biggest fear is that the wrong family goes home, turns around when they see the triage line or avoids coming altogether. All it takes is one to be a tragedy. This is stressful, sad and utterly demoralizing. #ottawa
