One of the most worrying of the changes is to do with the introduction of “disruption prevention” measures ⚠️
This means police can take absolutely draconian steps to prevent people from protesting, even if they have never been charged with a crime.
What are these “preventive powers”?
➡️Ban individuals from attending protests
➡️Authorise use of devices (tags) to monitor individuals
➡️Order individuals to remain at a certain place/for certain time
➡️Bar people from certain places/stop them from associating with certain people

At the helm of this bill is Suella Braverman who, defending this Bill, said that people protesting and striking are a “coalition of chaos”, and also are “Guardian-reading, tofu-eating wokerati” 👀 theguardian.com/politics/video…
Amnesty International even went as far as saying that this Bill with the preventive measures introduced “would “go further” than similar legislation in Russia”
The Bill has now gone through the Commons and will go to the House of Lords next.
