The proposed apology to be held at Parliament & requiring registration is grossly ignorant of the fact that the majority of Victim Survivors are from AYDC & OOHC - and may struggle with literacy, enclosed spaces, authoritative ppl & buildings - even using computers to register 1/
This apology must be accessible to those it is for. Why is it in your safe space not theirs? Why is it not open to all? Will there be opportunities to respond? That is an important part of offering a meaningful apology. What will you do now, to build the foundations needed.. 2/

Whilst AYDC is open & receiving reports about current staff offending, other apologies outstanding, offenders not charged, enablers still working, ppl who did report facing reprisal - the foundations are not laid for this to feel genuine. Lives have been destroyed, do it right.4/
Statistically, the majority of offending is at AYDC and OOHC. Obviously, ALL affected deserve this apology but that cohort is making up the majority of recipients. Trauma survivors may experience flight responses. Enclosed spaces are not appropriate & could dissuade attendance 5/
Will it be live-streamed to Risdon & AYDC? What support will be available to those hearing an apology about circumstances they are CURRENTLY facing? Go to the Victims. Meet their needs. Failure to do so has created this catastrophe. Actions, as always, speak louder than words. 6/
Pop your jeans on, create a safe atmosphere with many opportunities for support & private spaces on the lawn. Talk to those affected, as humans. Hear their stories & responses. Offer an apology. It may not be accepted which is ok too. They owe you nothing. Meet them & hear them.
