A thread, if I may:
This account was set up to take the piss out of the large number of very low calibre @Conservatives MPs who Tweet either stupid, untrue or simply laughable stuff.
Foremost among these was of course @NadineDorries 1.

Dorries is absolutely - and there is no other word for it - besotted with @BorisJohnson and although she is no longer in Cabinet she maintains a very prominent presence on Twitter urging the party to bring Johnson back as leader.
2.

She has been ploughing this furrow for several weeks now since it has become increasingly clear that @trussliz is hopelessly incompetent and living on borrowed time.
3.

During the summer, after Johnson was removed from office, she began a quite nasty campaign to do everything she could to damage the leadership campaign of @RishiSunak by painting him as the back-stabber who finished off her beloved Boris.

I came across many, many accounts with #neverSunak in their handles and the hashtag is still active today. Dorries wasn't alone of course. Johnson had other people arguing his case, notably @peteratcmc. Lord Cruddas was given a peerage by Johnson against official advice.

The leadership campaign to replace Johnson had numerous elimination rounds among Tory MPs and Sunak won all of them. Presumably, the MPs were more aware of Truss's shortcomings - catastrophic shortcomings, as they turned out - than the membership.

It's often argued that the Tory membership is essentially an older group which is likely to contain a fairly large racist component and that this is why Sunak lost; ie Tory members don't want a BAME leader.

I don't buy this at all. Patel, Kwarteng, Javid, Badenoch and Braverman are all from this demographic and Braverman in particular is the darling of the far right ERG wing who see her as their "standard-bearer" (quote today from @ABridgen).

Truss has been a disaster. Worse than a disaster. She's created mayhem in financial markets with her crackpot IEA Trussonmics which will take years to unwind and millions of people and businesses will be paying higher rates of interest as a direct result of her escapades.

In my opinion, Truss only ever got a job for which she was woefully ill-equipped due to a deliberate vindictive punishment beating doled out to Sunak by Nadine Dorries and her fellow travellers. It's worth thinking about this because people have short memories.

Dorries wants Johnson back. So do many members.
Johnson resigned after his long list of transgressions got a bit too much for his MPs to swallow.
Putting to one side bits of cake and Downing Street parties, let's think again about what Johnson brought to the office of PM.

Johnson is a moral vacuum. He is loyal to no-one, and to nothing. He is a scrounger and is completely without shame about who finances his lifestyle. He missed various meetings at COBR at the start of COVID-19 where he was sorting out his divorce.

As Foreign Secretary, he slipped his security detail and buggered off to Perugia for the weekend to attend a party at the palazzo of the son of a KGB officer who he later stuck in The House of Lords.

As PM, he lied repeatedly about an oven ready deal, about building 40 new hospitals, about fixing social care, and about the NI protocol.
He protected a sex pest and presided over a culture of bullying and drinking in Downing Street.
This is the man @NadineDorries supports.
