Matthew Guy has just had a secret meeting with The Australian Christian Lobby, which is the same thing he did prior to the 2018 election.

In 2018, Matthew Guy promised to bring special religious education back to primary schools.

1/8
This was despite huge efforts by parents to get proselytising evangelical organisations like Access Ministries out of state schools.

In 2014, Access Ministries, the main provider of religious education in Vic, gave biblezines to students telling them homosexuality is a sin.

2/8
When Michael O'Brien became leader he also made promises to the Australian Christian Lobby.

He promised to wind back elements of the ban on gay conversion therapy in order to secure the votes of religious conservatives who want gay people to 'pray the gay away'.

3/8
Matthew Guy's meeting was with Wendy Francis. Wendy is the National Director of Politics at the ACL. When Wendy was a Family First candidate she said 'legitimising gay marriage is like legalising child abuse.'

What did Matt promise to Wendy?

4/8
Matt told Wendy that criticism of those who are anti-abortion or hold anti LGIBTIQ+ views is ridiculous and concerning.

Guy's reiterated his promise to amend the equal opportunity act to allow faith schools to discriminate against gay and gender diverse people.

5/8
Victorians should be worried by Matthew Guy and the Victorian Liberals continuing to give secret and covert undertakings to The Australian Christian Lobby.

By the way, The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE) has listed the ACL as a hate group.

6/8
Why are Liberals like @johnpesutto in progressive seats like Hawthorn silent on his party's secret deals with hate group, the ACL?

Hawthorn deserves better than a candidate who will support policies that harm LGBTIQ+ people just to secure the homophobic vote.

7/8
Homophobia is evil, and particularly so when it's peddled by the ACL who disguise it as concern while it's inherently hate.

That we have candidates like Pesutto hiding their party's secret nod to the massively homophobic and bigoted needs to be called out. #mel4hawthorn

A few on the ground, or, in the air pics. Got the drone up. I've never seen it like this around here.

Dights Falls, Abbotsford.

1st shot 2016, falls in distance.
2nd, drone from earlier this year.
3 and 4, from Today. Notice viewing platform compared to shot 2.

1/5 ImageImageImageImage
Just 30 or so metres down from Dights on the Yarra Trail.

Note the Tree on the left in photo 1, and in the centre in photo 2.

That's the same tree in the 3rd and 4th photos.

And a bit further along still.

The 1st pic where Charlie is walking and the 2nd are shown today from above in photo 3.

I knocked on a door that was partially open. A voice yelled, 'come in'. I replied, 'It's ok, I don't want to intrude if this isn't a convenient time'.

The voice forcefully responded, 'don't be ridiculous, just come in'.

1/14
So, I ventured forth into this ground floor, sun drenched Balwyn flat, walking down the short hall to the living room. I entered hesitantly.

The woman confined to a chair looked at me and said, 'you're not my son'.

She was correct.

2/14
I replied, 'That's right, I'm not'. 'Well, you'd better sit down and tell me why you're here' she said.

So I picked up some books that were on the seat.

She chimed in 'just put the books down for God's sake', even though it had only been two seconds.

It’s 3 weeks since the Victorian Liberals’s ‘Ditch Dan’ fundraiser.

Have they met their obligations under the VEC disclosure rules?

Join me on this deep dive.

1/14
From the top.

Starting 9am Thurs 25 August, continuing for 24hrs, the Vic Liberals ran the ‘Ditch Dan’ campaign.

The goal was to raise $500,000 in 24 hours.

The carrot for donors was that every dollar they donated would be matched, doubling their donation.

2/14
In Victoria, an individual or company can donate a maximum of $4320 to a party or independent.

Any donation over $1080 must be disclosed to the Victorian Electoral Commission, both by the donor and the recipient.

Had Tim Smith not careered through a Hawthorn fence at nearly 3 times the legal limit, he'd be contesting Kew in Nov.

This article is enraging. Not because @annikasmethurst's article is a bad one. It's very good.

This article reminds me why the Liberals deserve to lose.

1/10
Tim Smith's rise was not because of what he brought, but because of his connections.

It's a familiar story for the party that claims to select on merit.

Kew is the type of seat the Liberals have like to gift to someone like Tim.

2/10
As Covid hit, my view of Tim changed from a run-of-the-mill philosophical dislike to wanting to dedicate every waking minute to his removal in Nov 2022.

Just as Frydenberg kicked Victorians as hard as he could, Tim's was a more bratish attack, but no less offensive.

The Liberal Party have announced the removal of the Glenferrie Road level crossing.

If this announcement today by Matthew Guy and John Pesutto sounds familiar, there's a very good reason.

Narrator: 'Come for a stroll down memory lane.'

1/8
Josh Frydenberg announced the removal of this level crossing back in 28 April 2019, just before the Federal election.

Many thought it was a desperate and cynical election eve announcement, along with Josh's ill-fated carpark promises.

Narrator: 'It was desperate.'

2/8
Coincidentally, this was the same day that Josh Frydenberg had Simon Holmes à Court removed from the Auburn Hotel, before he'd finished his glass of wine.

Narrator: 'Josh may come to regret kicking out Simon'

Josh. A thread

It’s hard to pinpoint the moment I became certain that Josh Frydenberg is not a man I want in our Parliament.

What I know is that I'm one of nearly 3,000 volunteers for @Mon4Kooyong, about 80% of who are volunteering like this for the 1st time.

1/15
During the first significant lockdown, I remember Josh using every opportunity he could to politicise Covid, and act in defiance of the health advice.

In our lowest moments, we needed support, but Josh prioritised his own political ambitions before Victorians.

2/15
In Vic's first outbreak when we were pursuing Covid Zero, all borders were closed to us, and there was no vaccine. We had to get to zero.

Despite having no choice, Josh continued to undermine the expert advice and kick, kick and kick us some more.
