Activists who just threw food on a Monet painting say we won’t be able to feed ourselves in 2050 bc of climate change, but the best-available UN science predicts *higher* yields — unless we stop using fertilizer, which is what the activists are demanding
Yields have risen even as temperatures increased by 1.1 degrees above pre-industrial temps. The UN Food & Ag Org (FAO) predicts rising yields under even very high temps so long as farmers keep using fertilizer, irrigation, & tractors & don't take the advice of climate activists.
Take a close look at this UN FAO slide. The impact of climate change is dwarfed by technological change in both rainfed and irrigated farms. Business-as-usual leads to the highest (25%) increases. Adopting "sustainability" (eg only organic fertilizer) leads to the lowest.
The fanatics who keep degrading precious works of art, and themselves, claim to be concerned about food and energy supplies, but in opposing abundant energy and fertilizer they are actively reducing both of them.
The impact is devastating Europe and will soon devastate the rest of the world. Fertilizer production has declined by 70%. Yes, Putin is the immediate reason. But climate activists are the ones who massively reduced natural gas production in Europe.
And, according to Hillary Clinton and the former head of NATO, many of those anti-natural gas "climate activists" were funded directly by Putin, who rightly viewed greater domestic production of natural gas as a threat to his energy domination of Europe.
Green dogmatists were behind the radical fertilizer ban in Sri Lanka that caused a currency crisis and brought down the government. Now, climate activists are actively demanding an end to natural gas-based fertilizer worldwide.
The EU, under the control of climate nihilists, is actively trying to stop poor nations in Africa from gaining access to modern fertilizer at a time of skyrocketing fertilizer prices and shortages of natural gas, the feedstock for nitrogen fertilizer.
Climate activists halved public and private investment in oil and gas production around the world through a propaganda effort called "ESG," which directly contributed to the global energy crisis.
Meanwhile, the EU, WEF, and climate activists really do want you to eat insects. I wish it were a conspiracy because then it would be secretive. Instead, they are loudly demanding we all start eating bugs.
I interviewed the main scientists and completely debunked the claim made by climate extremist groups @ExtinctionR made in 2019 that "billions will die" from climate change due to food shortages. Nobody ever refuted or even responded.
What could result in "billions dying" from food shortages isn't climate *change* but rather climate *policies,* specifically the climate policies that climate activists are demanding, both the end of modern synthetic fertilizers and the use of biomass for energy.
In other words, it's not just that climate activists are making wrong predictions. It's that they are using wrong predictions of food and energy shortages in the *future* to demand food and energy shortages *today.*
It's a sick game.
As such, the real problem here is not that the activists are annoying, or hypocritical, such as by using fossil fuels. The real problem is that they are demanding energy and food scarcity. That they are ostensibly protesting scarcity makes their behavior and demands sinister.
“The fiercest fanatics are selfish people who were forced, by innate shortcomings, to lose faith in their own selves. They separate their selfishness from their ineffectual selves and attach it to the service of some holy cause.”
The good news is that a global movement is forming as a counterweight to the climate nihilists. In particular, farmers are leading the resistance movement. They need others in civil society to stand up with them in solidarity.
Woke activists say they simply care more. But a pioneering psychologist, Sam Vaknin, who studies narcissism says, "The potential for aggression in victimhood movements is much larger than in the general population... Anything that is grievance-based leads to violence and death."
“Certain people are prone to adopt victimhood as an identity. Victimhood endows their life with meaning. They would seek to be victims even in situations where they would not have been victimized otherwise. When they are not victimized, they push you to become victimized.”
“The infiltration of narcissists and psychopaths is universal in all these victimhood movements and they become the public face of the movement,” says Vaknin.
California may become the 4th largest economy in the world bc the German economy in 2023 will shrink 0.4% not because California is succeeding. In fact, California's population has shrunk for two years in a row bc so many people are fleeing the state due to gross mismanagement.
More *total* people fled San Francisco and Los Angeles than any other city in the US, including New York, because California is a disaster of worsening crime, rampant homelessness, and the highest taxes in the country, all of which have worsened since you became governor.
"Forty-four percent of San Francisco voters plan to eventually leave the city, citing homelessness, the high cost of living and rising crime as the top reasons for looking elsewhere, according to the inaugural San Francisco Standard Voter Poll."
For over two years, the media have insisted that woke policies had nothing to do with rising crime. It turns out that voters, including most Democrats, don’t believe them, and rightly so.
Most voters have been able to see through the lies. If it looks like a religion and acts like a religion…
Paul Krugman claims “the U.S. has little influence” over the price of oil, but that’s ridiculous: Biden is draining the SPR bc he knows it reduces oil prices. And, more importantly, fracking turned the U.S. into the world’s largest oil producer, cutting the price of oil in half.
The @nytimes itself admits this when it’s politically convenient.
“Given the new American supply [from shale], high prices could simply not hold…. Washington played a critical part in the story that led to oil’s recent fall.”
“When researchers try to pin down exactly what it is in the system that gives rise to narcissistic behaviors, it is clear that entitlement is a significant part of the trait (Edershile & Writing, 2022).”
“Exhibitionist narcissism captures one’s need to be the center of attention, often at the expense of others; this includes expecting greater attention be given to one’s issues, opinions and values.”
People who wonder why Latinos are turning against Democrats might consider that, across California, working-class neighborhoods have been over-run with prostitution, drugs & gun violence since @GavinNewsom banned police from arresting sex workers in the name of transgender rights
“This is a piece of legislation that will ensure that people are safe on the streets and that we do not continue to be harassed and oppressed by law enforcement,” said the CEO of the TransLatin@ Coalition.
But people and the streets now are *more* dangerous.
"It shouldn't be introduced at the age of 4 years old that you're going down the street and you're seeing women dress like this (or) you need to learn 'oh, if you hear gunshots, duck down."
