Sanger wasn't a WASP. She was born to Irish Catholic immigrant parents. She was also a socialist (with the line between socialist and Communist being basically nonexistent pre-October Revolution).

In general, if ranking early 20th century American white ethnic groups from most leftist to most rightist, you'd get something like:
Jews < Catholics < Southern WASPs < poor Northern WASPs < elite Northern WASPs

Admittedly, the left/right frame is pretty anachronistic for the WASPs, with left/right being mostly a European (and thus immigrant community) thing until FDR.
