UAE authorities have announced a visa ban for Cameroonians, Nigerians, and 20 other nationalities wishing to travel to Dubai, with immediate effect.
In a notice issued to business partners, including travel agencies, the authorities said all applications should be rejected.
Many people, particularly Africans seeking to work in the UAE, mainly in Dubai, have in the past used the 30-day tourist visas to extend their stay in the country illegally
"This is to inform you that we will not be posting 30 days visa applications for these nationalities effective today October 18, 2022," the statement reads in part.
The ban affects the following nations: Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros and Dominican Republic.
There are 20 nations in total, 19 of which are in Africa
