"It never turns out well Wei Ying, you know this."
A petulant sigh leaves him as he slides into his desk chair. "Then how do you plan on interrogating him?"
"I have my ways."
Surely enough, the culprit confessed to his crimes—adding another solved case onto Lan Zhan's pile.
"That's not fair." Wei Ying complains that night they arrive back home. "Now I'm two cases behind you."
"This was a joint capture."
"Yeah but you got most of the credit so
now I have to catch up."
"Or," Lan Zhan's voice hitches. "You can just admit you lost."
"Lan Zhan," he pointedly says. "We've been married for three years and dated for 5. You really think I'll give up a bet, especially when it's against you?"
"All I'm saying is don't
forget what you owe when you lose."
"What makes you think I'll lose?" he crosses his arms, intrigued by what his husband will say.
"Because I play to win."
Dammit... Lan Zhan's hot. Too hot but thanks to his stubbornness, he's able to withstand the blow.
In the end, Lan Zhan ends up winning by one and Wei Ying's left to pay the price. Though it isn't all that bad.
"When you said you wanted to go on a date, I didn't think you meant an in home date."
They slide onto the couch in their with their pj's on as Lan Zhan pulls
the blankets over them. "We've been working cases nonstop because of the bet, all I want to do is relax at home with my husband."
"I thought you wanted to be spoiled."
"I am," Lan Zhan tilts his head. "You're spending time with me and showering me in kisses, are you not?"
"Yeah," chuckles Wei Ying. He presses another kiss onto Lan Zhan's cheek, giving it a teasing bite before pulling away.
Lan Zhan's gaze follows like a hawk, "Don't start."
"Start what? I didn't do anything officer. I'm innocent."
"Mn," his husband hums then lifts him
with brute strength. "Some needs to be detained."

Uni professor Lan Wangji, who attended a welcoming party the night before, wakes up to find a stranger sleeping next to him.
Mortification drowns him as he realizes, he can't recall anything. Especially, not after all those drinks.
He scrambles out of bed in panic and rushes
out of the odd hotel room they had apparently checked into.
He's disoriented the whole morning at work and only becomes more addled when the same stranger walks into his lecture hall, introducing himself as Wei Wuxian:
A new student in his class.
Lan Zhan nerves stand on end and he wonders if the student recognizes him. But Wei Wuxian doesn’t spare so much as a glance—only pressing through to his seat.
The suppressed breath in his chest evens out and Lan Zhan carries on with lecture.
