Today I will tell you a story- or rather a fairy tale -about a project of several Finnish #vatnik's.The story is called "The Rise and Fall of the Fennotravels".The story has two characters: Janus and Kosti, and they both share a love towards the Russian country and its people.1/9
Janus Putkonen (.@janus_putkonen) is a Finnish #vatnik who I introduced in my earlier posts. You can read his bio here:
Janus is the creator of the Fennoland project and well-known pro-Russia propagandist: fennomaa.net 2/9
Kosti Heiskanen (2nd from the left) is a Finnish "journalist" who has spent a lot of time in Russia. He's known for providing many anti-🇫🇮 interviews on 🇷🇺 media. He is the tour guide of the Fennotours that organizes trips from 🇫🇮 to 🇷🇺, and is quite a character. 3/9
At the project's website, Janus describes Fennoland as an "online republic of Finnish patriots" and as an "response to the NATO revolution in Finland". One of Fennoland's aims was to improve the relations between 🇫🇮 and 🇷🇺 people. 4/9
For this, they founded a travel agency called Fennotravels. Fennotravels has two missions: to arrange tourist trips from 🇫🇮 to 🇷🇺, and help Finnish people to exchange their euros and/or dollars to 🇷🇺 rubles (no, that's not a joke). 5/9
Fennotravels' first trip from Helsinki to St. Petersburg was to be guided by Kosti, and the group finally departed on the 20th of October, 2022. At this point, everything seemed to be going fine and dandy:
Then, on 24th of October, the nightmare began: Janus posted on Fennotravels' Telegram channel (t.me/fennomatkat) that the travel company cancels all of their future trips due to "illegalities":
7/9
It appears that Kosti had embezzled around 60 000 rubles (approx. 1000 euros) of Fennotravels' money and the travellers had also been coerced to some kind of fundraiser for the 🇷🇺 military. Based on some of their private messages, it seems that they are blaming each other. 8/9
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was The Rise and Fall of the Fennotravels. If you want to get a good laugh, go to this Telegram channel and translate the texts for yourself: t.me/fennomatkat

Today I'll be introducing one of the most infamous Finnish 🇷🇺 disinfo site on the web: MV-Lehti (AKA MV-Media or UMV-Lehti).During its existence, the site has had three Chief-Editors:Ilja Janitskin, Juha Korhonen (.@Juha_Korh2) and currently Janus Putkonen (.@janus_putkonen).1/10
The latter two have already been introduced in my Finnish #vatnik's series:
I would still like to tell you little about Mr Janitskin, the sole founder of MV-Lehti:
2/10
Ilja started MV-Lehti while living in Spain back in 2014 after a series of failed businesses. Initially it was used as an marketing tool to get 🇫🇮 to come and work in 🇪🇸. The website became quite popular and at some point was amongst the top 10 visited websites in 🇫🇮.

Today I ran into propaganda piece that (to me) appears to be fake. It's a documentary called "Monopoly - Who owns the world" by Tim Gielen and it's a vivid story about deep state and other conspiracy theories.
I think Tim Gielen does not exist. Can you help me find out? 1/4
I got suspicious when I saw this intro of the documentary. To me, the person, his facial expressions and the lighting/shadows seem unnatural. For example, his eyebrows seem to move in an unnatural way and his voice sometimes is out of sync with the lips. 2/4
Today I'll be introducing one of the main pro-🇷🇺 agitators and grand Finnish #vatnik's, Johan Bäckman (.@johanbek). This Alexander Dugin's disciple and avid 🇷🇺 disinfo spreader has been spewing anti-🇫🇮 propaganda on Kreml-controlled media for years. 1/10
He's also keen on burdening the 🇫🇮court system with his multiple court cases - Already back in 2012, Johan had formulated at least 90 court complaints.Bäckman had a child in 2004 with a Soviet-born woman and most of the court cases are related to a custody battle between two.2/10
In 2020, the Finnish Supreme Court sentenced Johan to 60 days of probation for the persecution of journalist Jessikka Aro (.@JessikkaAro). He also had to compensate Aro for around 18000 euros. 3/10
