Paella inspired dish at #chezfrantzman

We bought chicken drumsticks and thighs and tossed them in garlic, onion, paprika, olive oil, salt and saffron water and then fried them in oil and a bit of water until they were cooked through; then we set them aside. Image
Meanwhile we took three tomatoes and put them in a pan on heat and then in cold water and peeled and cubed them.
We chopped a cup of onion and cup of red and green pepper and several cloves of garlic; having taken the chicken out of the pan after ten minutes we then put the onions and garlic in the same large pan with paprika and salt and made a sofrito Image
we added some of the saffron water and a dash of apple cider vinegar; cooked down; then we added a more of the saffron water and a bit of chicken stock water; adding the tomatoes, white beans; green long beans; and salt and then put the chicken back; Image
then we added two cups of chicken broth, until the water reaches almost the rim of the pan; turned up the head and added cup of saffron water with saffron. On top we put one finely chopped hot pepper;
several whole cloves of garlic and a few small heads of cauliflower; Then we added two cups of Arborio rice, pushed it around and turned the heat down; and then cooked it down for 20 min; on top we added several sprigs of rosemary and then a cup of green frozen peas and covered Image
and cooked it down, monitoring the water level. To get a good soccarrat, we first sprinkled a bit of olive oil on top and chopped parsley and green onion and a dash of sweet paprika; then we turned the heat up to medium for several minutes, then up to high heat for minute or two.

So wait…did Israel basically sign a deal giving Lebanon expanded rights at sea under threat that if it didn’t sign then Hezbollah, an illegal terrorist militia, would attack.

Hezbollah ends state of alert over maritime border - Nasrallah m.jpost.com/breaking-news/…
The whole thing began with US mediation, Lebanon under prodding from Hezbollah, expanded its claims vastly to include a gas field Israel was already developing
Then Hezbollah said Israel couldn’t extract gas from this field, basically an illegal terror mafia that illegally has weapons in Lebanon and holds Lebanon hostage and bankrupts it for Iran…dictated threats

You ever notice that every time Moscow seems to be losing in Ukraine suddenly some voices in the West come out shouting "we need diplomacy/engagement/negotiation"...odd how they never tell Moscow to do diplomacy...somehow it's always messaging for the West. "We need peace."
Peace is a lie when it is predicated on always forcing peace on the victim side and never demanding the invader/aggressor make peace...the "peace" chorus wasn't there shouting at Moscow back in February...nope...they wait until Moscow tells them "now say 'peace'" and they do
In this context "peace" is a lie, an Orwellian word used by Moscow and its friends in the West...used to make people pretend that enabling Russia's illegal conquests, illegal war, illegal occupation, illegal annexation, can be "negotiated"...

If you ever want to know how propaganda works...just listen to people who claim that arming a smaller country so it can resist invasion is "pro-war"...notice they never say Moscow or Beijing is "pro-war"...but if one supports arms for Ukraine, it's "pro-war"...that's propaganda
This propaganda lie has always lurked in the background; those in favor of preparing Britain for war in the 1930s were accused of being "pro-war". One thing to note about the "pro-war" talking point, is they never accuse powerful countries that invade, like Russia. of "pro-war"
the "pro-war" talking point is reserved only for democracies and small countries that are victims...notice how authoritarian regimes are never called "pro-war"...not Moscow, Beijing, Ankara or Tehran...it's always the western democracies that are called "pro-war."

I've been thinking about writing down some memories, like the beginning of a memoir, just so I don't forget them, so far I got from the 1980s to 1999...basically to the Kosovo war...and when I studied abroad in Russia...which seems pertinent now; because it was a different time
I was there in Moscow in summer 1999; it's interesting to remember now; in the summer of 1999 Putin was appointed acting prime minister of the Government of the Russian Federation; after the Pristina International Airport standoff in June 1999
Anyway, as I've been writing down some memories, these stories come up

Anyone who thinks the Iran-Russia alliance just emerged should be reading some history; check out this document from 2000, 22 years ago; Image
Quoted in Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Proliferation Brief, Vol. 3, no. 22, July 25, 2000, Richard Speier, “Iran-Russia Missile Cooperation Richard Speier, Rober Gallucci, Robbie Sabel, Viktor Mizin,” section “The Russian View,”
The fact is that the Russia-Iran partnership goes back decades; and Iran supplying Russia with drones is merely a new chapter; Iran's Qasem Soleimani encouraged Putin to intervene in Syria; this is historic partnership.

You notice how most of the "alien sighting" and "abductions" seem to have vanished in the era of smart phones...like all that stuff from Roswell onward, to the "lights in the sky"...largely vanished as technology to catch the incidents suddenly became more available?
I guess because various "abductions" by Aliens and "my car stopped working on a lonely road and an alien ship appeared" just doesn't work as well when it can all be documented on a phone...like "Bob was abducted, but we see his cell phone signal"....
I'm not saying there aren't documented unexplained activity; there is...but some of the stories just disappeared the second technology was there that would have made it easier to document.
