This is a 🧵 so please bare with me. I saw this video today and I was heartbroken for this little girl and for the others in the car hearing her tiny screams. 1) If a child is this terrified and visibly fighting going with someone, why does our Justice System still force 1/?
That child to go? It’s not in the best interest of the child if they are this upset each and every single time they are forced to be with someone they fear. 2) Why is a childs voice still not vaild? Why does Child Protection Agencies continually say a young child cannot truly 2/?
express themselves and how they feel about someone and what how someone is hurting them? This video shows clearly the child does not want to go with the grandparent. It shows this child in fear. It’s sending a message to the child that her feelings are not valid. That she is 3/?
Not going to be helped even if she were to ask for it (and she did say help me). 3) Why does the court system still force children to be with someone who has harmed them? How is this in the best interest of any child? #abuseisabuse it doesn’t matter who is doing the abuse. 4/?
Even if she has not been physically harmed, this right here is emotionally traumatizing her. What will her future look like? Is it in her best interest to allow this to continue and he need counselling the rest of her life? For her to harm herself? For her to runaway? When 5/?
Will we start listening and paying attention to children no matter their age! There are signs and they are being ignored. I am angry that this is still happening and that parents have to post a video like this to show how the justice system has failed their child. #abuseawareness
