"Guaranteeing the right to contact in care" Never Again must we treat our loved ones in care in this way, many sadly no longer with us, many died alone, many isolated, many felt abandoned we urge all MPs to join the debate tomorrow @DanCardenMP @tracey_crouch @libdemdaisy #rfr🧵
Never again must our loved ones be isolated in their rooms, alone, #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
Never Again must the voices of those in care be ignored #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
Never Again must children and young adults in care be separated from their parents #GloriasLaw #Rightsforresidents
Never again must it be just left to "guidance not law" #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
Never again must those in care be denied the right to see their families at the one time in their lives when they should be together #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
Not all in care are older, there are many young people in care denied the right to time with their families - Never again. #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
Isolation has torn families apart, deterioration in those we love irreversible. Never again #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
As winter approaches, we must never again have this threat hanging over our loved ones in care #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
We know there are many amazing Care Homes who have led the way, done all they can. We know that the carers have always done all they can, and we thank them - There are some truly AMAZING care homes and providers #rightsforresidents
Thank you @RuthieHenshall for all you have done - we will get #GloriasLaw, in memory of your wonderful mum #rightsforresidents
Never again, we continue to campaign for all we have lost, for all we have loved, for all we remember #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
We will march again if we have to, Never again must those in any care setting be denied the right to a #CareSupporter #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents
This is why Tomorrow's debate tabled by @DanCardenMP @tracey_crouch @libdemdaisy @LSRPlaid is so important, the above is why we must "Guarantee the right to maintain contact in care settings" we will not rest until we do - end 🧵 #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents

We have been asked, do you remember when you joined Twitter? We should never have had to join or even start up, but 2 years later we are still going. Thank you to all who have/do support us. Thread 🧵1/14 #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents #MyTwitterAnniversary
Our first video was launched, a poem aimed at @MattHancock, the video showing what some of our loved ones were going through at the time 3/14 #GloriasLaw #rightsforresidents

Every letter one of our members receives from either their MP or directly from @GillianKeegan ends in the same way - who to contact including @CareQualityComm 🧵 1/9 #rightsforresidents
but what is the point @GillianKeegan in contacting @CareQualityComm if they cannot act on our behalf? 2/9 #rightsforresidents
Every MP that as written to Minister for Care and Mental Health has received the same letter with the same ending - recommending you speak to @CareQualityComm only they will not respond to any complaint - so who will @GillianKeegan 3/9 #rightsforresidents

Very long thread, with new guidance out, few care groups have updated their websites, from what we can see on their written guidance - mostly they are still requiring appointments, some are mentioning testing, some are very out of date. Let us know what your group is up to #rfr
First up #PorthavenCareGroup lots of talk of booking appointments - let us hope it is out of date #rfr porthaven.co.uk/visit-a-reside…
Next up @Bondcare1 - not updated since march 2021 - does not reflect well surely? #rfr

freedom for all - except care homes - here are some of the “freedoms” still in place this morning - will there be a change in guidance? rolling lockdowns continue @GillianKeegan @sajidjavid and are you really going to bring in a “pay per view” really? #rfr
As mask wearing goes - full PPE remains - right or wrong? But why such a difference from seeing family in different homes - a home setting nothing a (care) home setting - mask, gloves and aprons still required #rfr Image
We still need to be tested - makes sense, for now, but are we now going to be charged a “pay per view” tax to see our loved ones? Most homes let families test at home now so - will we have to pay? @GillianKeegan #rightsforresidents Image

2021 was a year many of us will remember, probably for the wrong reasons. A total lockdown that had started in March 2020, care homes had never really opened up and for most, window visits were the best we could hope for - horrific (thread following!) #rightsforresidents
We were invited to join @leicesterliz at an online meeting she set up for families, to learn more about the situation, hear what people were experiencing first hand and gave all an opportunity to talk openly #rightsforresidents
We have had a second meeting in the early part of 2021 with @Helen_Whately #essentialcaregiver status was discussed, two our members joined us to share their personal stories - #essentialcaregiver would first appear in the guidance in March #rightsforresidents

Who is doing what with regards to #essentialcaregiver status. Who is promoting, what does it mean?
In March @NCFCareForum put out a joint post with ourselves and have been actively pushing for fairer visiting ever since - thank you #rightsforresidents socialcare.blog.gov.uk/2021/03/30/par…
The @CareEngland 'charity' & @ProfMartinGreen make noises about #essentialcaregiver but until the recent change in guidance most of their members have been very reluctant to follow it, why? they have denied their 'customers' their basic #humanrights #rightsforresdients
We hope @NationalCareAsc would follow #essentialcaregiver guidance but on @BBCBreakfast their vice president talks of pods/screens for a single case - ECG can still visit during an outbreak (2+cases) do they not allow the guidance? #rightsforresidents
