A collective of community organizations who are “committed to change & liberation” got together last night to host “Save our Schools: Activating Parents in an Age of CRT-Backlash” w/ keynotes from Kimberle Crenshaw & Ibram X Kendi to champion teaching CRT, CSE & SEL in schools.🧵

They sure went from “We’re not teaching CRT in schools! That’s a legal theory!” to “We’re not teaching ENOUGH CRT in schools” real fast. They’re just mad they got caught which activated parents like me & others to push back & expose how they’re sneaking it into education. 🧵

The #TruthBeTold campaign bemoans the passing of Anti-CRT legislation that they say prevents the “teaching of honest American history & civics.” They compare efforts of those seeking to rid schools of divisive & highly sexualized material to that of the Nazis. 🧵

This rep from SIECUS, Sex Ed for Social Change, argues for more “inclusive” sexual education. “Inclusion” often means acceptance of extreme sexual variance. See this tweet thread from @kellyske:

They argue for more mental health & medical resources/services at school to help kids feel “safe & supported” by taking funding dedicated to school resource police officers-because they believe they cause harm-& give that money towards social & emotional learning. Why? 🧵

Education activists have woven SEL, CSE & Social Justice Activism into academic curricula, even College & Career Readiness. In order to graduate with the correct mindsets & behaviors, students have to embrace antiracism & dismantle systems.

Ibram X. Kendi is the one attaching negative connotations to skin color through his campaign to teach anti-racism & the CRT tenets of white privilege & white supremacy. We have them organizing & on the run because we have been effective. Keep going, patriots! 🧵

They view our efforts to stop CRT as “bad news.” The new narrative is that Democrat voters (according to their polls), once they understand CRT, want it to be taught in schools & that they are the majority who wants to save our democracy. No. We are & they know they're losing.🧵
