Second paper session of #aiide22 starting up! To start we have @quakefultales, who has created Puppitor, a system to help create AI characters as expressive as fighting game characters, but for narrative!
Initial playtests suggested that players began to become cognizant and reflective of their performance. Like actors!
Next up, Giulio Mori presents his work on EM-Glue, a general, environment-agnostic platform for experience managers.
(My student, Kristen Yu, will presenting a demo tomorrow on a different solution to the same problem: a general experience manager environment!)
Next some #aiide22 poster previews, first two from @RushSangs, the first focused on failed actions and incorrect character beliefs in narrative planners!
And next up a familiar face, @RushSangs looking at how well users understand stories with failed actions.
Next Rachelyn Farrel, talking about a new salience distance metric for stories to be used in domain authoring tools.
Final presentation of the session, we’ve got @sashazad introducing “Anthology”, a framework for social simulation.

Fun trends the bot learns over time.
Next up @xxbidiao talking about mixed-initiative co-creation communication and control.
