. @AVindman testified to hold Trump accountable because, “Here, right matters.”
There are few Senators who are a bigger threat to democracy than Ron Johnson.
Which is why we stopped by his hometown in #WI to talk with veterans about the opportunity to defeat him on Nov 8. 🧵
Recent polling has this race as a dead heat. @TheOtherMandela has a huge opportunity to defeat Republican Ron Johnson, which would flip this Senate seat and expand the Democratic majority.
Ron Johnson is complicit in the violence that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. He contributed to the distrust, the conspiracy theories and the unrest that led to the attack. And then he defended and downplayed those who attacked us.
On top of that, Johnson wants to pass an extreme ban on all abortions, with no exceptions for rape or incest. He wants to slash social security and ship good, union jobs out of Wisconsin. And he voted against providing health care to veterans exposed to toxic burn pits - twice.
Every single one of us has an obligation to hold Ron Johnson accountable by defeating him this November.
Early voting has begun in Wisconsin.

By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court has not only taken a wrecking ball to reproductive rights - it has taken a wrecking ball to military readiness. America will be less secure as a result. [🧵]
Even before today, abortion services for active duty troops were extremely limited & only provided by military health care if the pregnancy was a result of sexual assault or threatened the life of the pregnant person - and only if the base had services avail (which many don't).
Service members and their families who require abortion care for any other reason must go off-base and pay out of pocket for these services.
Biden’s ban on Russian oil cuts off a major revenue source for Putin.
But already, oil & gas execs are calling on @POTUS to roll back climate protection provisions & open public lands for more drilling. They claim that will 🔽 gas prices & stop Putin.
Don't fall for it. 🧵
Oil producers already have an excess of public land to drill on - more than 26 million acres of public lands are currently leased for oil and gas exploration - but over half of those leases remain idle and unused. They are using the crisis in Ukraine to justify grabbing more.
Activity on public lands already leased to them is so low that just a few months ago, Energy @SecGranholm pleaded with oil drillers to produce more fossil fuels. “Please, take advantage of the leases that you have,” Granholm said. “Hire workers. Get your rig count up.”
