1/ 🚨 Elon Musk is firing government watchdogs that regulate his companies—a massive conflict of interest. With Trump, he’s gutting the CFPB, leaving military families vulnerable to financial predators. 🧵
2/ The CFPB has long protected service members from scams, predatory loans & mortgage fraud. In 2024 alone, it handled 100K+ complaints & returned $175M to military families. Now, Musk & allies are dismantling it.

In a recent announcement, @SecDef Pete Hegseth stated that he doesn't see a path for Ukraine to join NATO and doubts Ukraine can regain all its territory from Russia. This marks a major shift in U.S. policy—one with serious consequences.
For years, the U.S. backed Ukraine’s sovereignty & NATO path to deter Russian aggression. Now, signaling that Ukraine won’t join NATO sends a dangerous message: military force can change borders, and aggression works. The risks go far beyond Ukraine.

As a Marine Corps veteran and VA patient, I know firsthand how critical the VA is to our community. Today, I’m amplifying a powerful statement from @SenBlumenthal on the dangerous gaps in Trump’s VA hiring freeze exemptions. #VeteransDeserveBetter 🧵
Senator Blumenthal is calling for a full exemption for all VA employees from Trump’s hiring freeze. Veterans deserve clarity, not vague promises. Partial exemptions leave critical roles unfilled—impacting healthcare, benefits, and services.

1/ 🚨 Women are essential to the strength of America’s military. From combat roles to leadership positions, it's been proven time and again that inclusion makes our Armed Forces stronger. Yet, Pete Hegseth, Trump’s Defense pick, is waging a dangerous culture war. 🧵
2/ The @TheEconomist lays it out: Hegseth’s baseless attacks on women in combat risk damaging recruitment, retention, and morale at a time when the U.S. military can least afford it. We need every qualified person willing to serve. Read here: economist.com/leaders/2025/0…

Some personal news - I’m running for County Supervisor - District 4, in my hometown of San Diego!
For me, it’s always been about the mission. Fighting for causes bigger than myself. And I’m fortunate to have had a career that’s allowed me to do just that ...🧵
It’s why I joined the Marines, fought to lift the unjust ban on women serving in top military jobs, & became a victims’ advocate for survivors of assault.
It’s why I decided to cut my career short & come home to San Diego to care for my mom in her final fight with Alzheimer’s.

. @AVindman testified to hold Trump accountable because, “Here, right matters.”
There are few Senators who are a bigger threat to democracy than Ron Johnson.
Which is why we stopped by his hometown in #WI to talk with veterans about the opportunity to defeat him on Nov 8. 🧵
Recent polling has this race as a dead heat. @TheOtherMandela has a huge opportunity to defeat Republican Ron Johnson, which would flip this Senate seat and expand the Democratic majority.

By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court has not only taken a wrecking ball to reproductive rights - it has taken a wrecking ball to military readiness. America will be less secure as a result. [🧵]
Even before today, abortion services for active duty troops were extremely limited & only provided by military health care if the pregnancy was a result of sexual assault or threatened the life of the pregnant person - and only if the base had services avail (which many don't).

Biden’s ban on Russian oil cuts off a major revenue source for Putin.
But already, oil & gas execs are calling on @POTUS to roll back climate protection provisions & open public lands for more drilling. They claim that will 🔽 gas prices & stop Putin.
Don't fall for it. 🧵
Oil producers already have an excess of public land to drill on - more than 26 million acres of public lands are currently leased for oil and gas exploration - but over half of those leases remain idle and unused. They are using the crisis in Ukraine to justify grabbing more.
