This marks a major shift in U.S. policy—one with serious consequences. For years, the U.S. backed Ukraine’s sovereignty & NATO path to deter Russian aggression. Now, signaling that Ukraine won’t join NATO sends a dangerous message: military force can change borders, and aggression works. The risks go far beyond Ukraine.
