Some personal news - I’m running for County Supervisor - District 4, in my hometown of San Diego!

For me, it’s always been about the mission. Fighting for causes bigger than myself. And I’m fortunate to have had a career that’s allowed me to do just that ...🧵 It’s why I joined the Marines, fought to lift the unjust ban on women serving in top military jobs, & became a victims’ advocate for survivors of assault.

It’s why I decided to cut my career short & come home to San Diego to care for my mom in her final fight with Alzheimer’s.

. @AVindman testified to hold Trump accountable because, “Here, right matters.”

There are few Senators who are a bigger threat to democracy than Ron Johnson.

Which is why we stopped by his hometown in #WI to talk with veterans about the opportunity to defeat him on Nov 8. 🧵 Recent polling has this race as a dead heat. @TheOtherMandela has a huge opportunity to defeat Republican Ron Johnson, which would flip this Senate seat and expand the Democratic majority.

By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court has not only taken a wrecking ball to reproductive rights - it has taken a wrecking ball to military readiness. America will be less secure as a result. [🧵] Even before today, abortion services for active duty troops were extremely limited & only provided by military health care if the pregnancy was a result of sexual assault or threatened the life of the pregnant person - and only if the base had services avail (which many don't).

Biden’s ban on Russian oil cuts off a major revenue source for Putin.

But already, oil & gas execs are calling on @POTUS to roll back climate protection provisions & open public lands for more drilling. They claim that will 🔽 gas prices & stop Putin.

Don't fall for it. 🧵 Oil producers already have an excess of public land to drill on - more than 26 million acres of public lands are currently leased for oil and gas exploration - but over half of those leases remain idle and unused. They are using the crisis in Ukraine to justify grabbing more.
