a lot of "fashion reporting" I see is just dressed-up marketing. journalists who are turning press releases into advertorials using fancy language, which earns them ten cents per word. it's genuinely shameful.
a reasonable response to this is that travel jackets should be fused because they're crumpled, thrown around, and meant to be super light. basically like casual jackets. true! but then $2,500 for this?? what's the difference between this and a fully fused jacket in a trendy cut?
i know this is cheating bc brands always pad the margins on small accessories. but for example:
L: cucinelli card case. fully machine sewn for $450. look at holes btw stitches
R: chester mox card case. fully handsewn, bespoke, and MiUSA. ~$250. look at how stitches are tighter.

one of the challenges for ye's fashion future is that he has to meet deadlines. the fashion calendar is very demanding. raf said it himself in the film dior, where he complained about how the number of products, collections, and shows per year leaves little time for thinking
when you look back at ye's fashion creations, you can see how much hand-holding there was from various people: Jean Touitou of APC, Robert Geller, John Elliott, and more recently Demna (who completely designed Yeezy Gap)
i dont think ppl appreciate how difficult it is to bring fashion items to market. ye losses a huge infrastructure with the loss of this adidas deal. will be hard to make cheap fashion items when the guy has a rep for running up costs by constantly changing his mind at last minute
$20 clothing items are possible when costs are shared across a huge institution and production is streamlined with teams. this is why many niche fashion brands are expensive without actually improving quality.
anyway, if you like Yeezy as a fashion line, you should check out Robert Geller and his earlier line with Alexandre Prokhorov, Cloak. Many of Ye's fashion designs are derivative of that style anyway.
I want to share with you how you can look better without exercise. To be sure, exercise is good and will improve your life in all sorts of ways. But it's hard and not that fun to do. So here's how to get some of the effects through clothing
A friend of mine on StyleForum (emptym) shared with me these two photos of him in two bespoke sport coats. Left is by WW Chan; right is by I Sarti Italiani. These are made from the same cloth, and worn by the same person, so it makes for easy comparison.
First, we should look at how suit jackets and sport coats are constructed. Unlike casualwear, which is typically made from just one piece of cloth (like a trucker jacket), suits and sport coats are made from multiple layers of material to give the final jacket shape
A recent NYT article about how men are dressing when returning to offices showed that, despite predictions about sweatpants, most ppl are still in business casual (BC). Unfortunately, BC can be pretty dispiriting. Ideas on how to do it better
First, do whatever you can to hold onto a tailored jacket. A tailored jacket is flattering. It builds up and widens the shoulder line, making the waist look slimmer by comparison. It covers and slims the hips. Dress shirt with just slacks is 😔 Esp on men with average figures
Let's assume a suit is out of the question. We then start with the sport coat. Get them in basic materials: blue hopsack, brown tweed, etc. Wear them with light blue dress shirts, grey or tan trousers, and semi-casual dress shoes such as mid-brown derbies, chukkas, or loafers.
