#Thread Bhoota Kola, The 500 years old Divine and Mysterious tradition...
Kantara, the amazing film by Kannada Film industry which is in discussion these days. The film tells about the life of Tribals and their wonderful ancient traditions.
In the coastal areas of Karnataka, each village has a different deity who is worshiped by the villagers. These deities are called Daiva and Daiva fulfill every wish of villagers and protect them. The form and nature of the deities are also different.
'Bhoot Kola' is very common in the coastal areas of Karnataka. Bhoot Kola is a form of worship. Bhoot Kola (dance for the Daiva) is basically performed in the open ground near the village Daiva Mandir. Bhoot Kola is divine dance, not everyone can do it.
Bhoot Kola is performed by a trained person and it is believed that for some time he himself becomes 'Daiva'. The person who performs Bhoot Kola, does amazing makeup and dances holding bells, sword and fire in hands.
When the Daiva enter inside that person, he resolves the issues of the villagers and gives them advice and promises to fulfill everyone's wishes. Panjurli Daivva and Guliga Daiva are the main Daities. Panjurli Daiva Swaroop is like a wild boar and he protects the villagers.
Panjurli Daivva is also associated with the Varaha avatar of Bhagwan Vishnu. The other main daiva is Guliga whose Swaroop is fierce and he is angry in nature. Guliga Daiva's hunger never satisfies. These two deities are always worshiped together.

In the heart of Dakshineswar Kali Temple stands the Panchavati grove. Five sacred trees, planted by Rani Rashmoni, radiate an aura that words can barely hold. A space where every leaf feels like a prayer to the Maa. Image
Sri Ramakrishna chose this grove as his seat of meditation. Under its shade, he entered samādhi and spoke with the Divine Swaroop of Maa as if She were before him. The soil remembers the touch of his sacred ecstasy. Image

In the lap of the Trikuta Hills...

This thread will give you goosebumps! Image
An old couple, weak and childless, began the yatra to Maa Vaishno Devi. They had little strength, no food, and only faith in their hearts. Each step was a test, yet they whispered “Jai Mata Di” as their only support. Image
Midway up the steep path, their legs gave out. They sat under a tree, crying quietly. Hunger burned, but they had no money to buy food. With folded hands, they prayed from the heart, “Maa, let us see you once before we die.” Image
