🧵 Earlier this week I wrote an article about how I narrowly avoided the #transwagon (play on bandwagon)
I attempted to address the whys and it was entirely about my personal experience.
I skated around and I don’t think fully addressed the connection between my being autistic
and the reasons for latching on to the “inbetween” of non binary.
So here goes
Autistic people often have sensory issues, physical discomfort in one’s body. As a consequence comfort is key. To some this means compression clothing, to others loose and baggy.
An aversion to change.
Binding one’s breasts, wanting everything solid to give one a better centre of gravity. There is also a correlation between autism and poor muscle tone. Often co-morbid with autism is dyspraxia. For all these reasons autistic people feel PHYSICAL discomfort and disconnect
from our bodies.
Social norms are also acquired in a different way. For example I grew didn’t socialise with my peer group as a child and didn’t learn the relevant social skills appropriate to a child of my background.
Consequently, many autistic children grow up without
the same care for what their peers think of them. In puberty this has previously led to bullying.
ENTER THE PERFECT GET OUT CLAUSE. The socially acceptable way to be yourself WITHOUT receiving the bullying you have done all your life.
You see, autistic people, for all the
reasons listed above are more likely to not conform to expectations. Often because we don’t recognise them, or we actually can’t comply.
Being gender non conforming is common. We learnt different things out of our socialisation and prioritise differently.
What you end up with are young people who have never met gendered expectations who are CLEVER but like rules and order.
Then they run into a movement that has all the rules layed out.
The descriptions of a trans identity are often IDENTICAL to a list of autistic traits.
I recently saw a list of “you know your trans when” only to read the ASD diagnostic criteria.
These autistic trans identifying people aren’t wrong, they’re not trans, but the conclusions they have come to are accurate. They’ve often correctly identified their traits and found
a tribe. But like many tribes, these involve initiations.
That’s where it gets dangerous. “So you think your one of us, prove it, how much do you hate your breasts? Prove it. Your penis. Your voice?”
Vulnerable youth meet predators with an agenda.
Clever but vulnerable often
historically bullied kids meet adults who accept their autistic traits but only to support a wider agenda.
Autistic kids are correct when they find commonalities between themselves and descriptions of “trans”
It is my greatest fear that this is by design.
Why else would the criteria and the “hallmarks of a trans childhood” be word for word the hallmarks of an autistic one?
I beg anyone who is in the #GC community to get geeky about autism. You will only be reignited with “WTF” and that is hardly a bad thing.
End of thread.

I’m sorry but NOTHING has been done to anyone for this to be a reasonable conclusion. You are cosplaying the oppression of the Jews in 1930s Europe. You should be ashamed.
The PM made one speech. You have safety and protection in law. European Jews were slaughtered in
there millions. WOMEN are the oppressed class, but I would never dare to compare our oppression with that of the fecking HOLOCAUST.
I’m going to leave some links to all the restrictions placed on the lives of Jews now because I will not see compassions like this baselessly said.
