The 11th century Surya temple of Jhalrapatan (Rajasthan) is an exquisitely carved temple following the ratha style. It has a beautifully carved tall shikhara with many small miniature shikharas (bhumija style) that adorns the sanctum top. 1/4 #Chattpuja @LostTemple7
2/4 The original roof shikaras of the mandapas are missing, & replaced with 18th century chattris & a dome, which unfortunately, are a mismatch with the original 10th century architecture of the temple. The temple has a mukha mandapa, mandapa, antarala, & a garbhagriha.
3/4 As per local beliefs, until the middle of the 19th century the sanctum held a gold statue of the Surya/ Sun god, which was carried off by plunderers during the 1857 Mutiny.
Presently the sanctum holds the murti of a four-armed Padmanabha placed inside in the 19th century.

The outer walls of the temple are also exquisitely carved with many sculptures of the dikpalas, Surya, Ganesha, surasundaris, mithuna couples, and various miniature scenes depicting the lives of the common man.

2/4 A famous example of them occurs in the book Kathasaritsagara, in which a king tries to capture a Vetala, but each time the Vetala tells him a story with a riddle at the end. This occurs 25 times, and those 25 stories are the basis of much of the world's folklore.
3/4 Kathasaritsagara is originally based on a lost epic called Brihatkatha. Brihatkatha was written in the Paishachi langauge (language of ghosts) which is no longer known on Earth, but is believed to have been known by some people in the Dvapara yuga.
Today is Kojagori Lakshmi puja; an auspicious day when the Noakhali rio!s were started as pre-planned, in pre-partition Bengal (10th October 1946).
The horrific rio!s were a continuing part of the Direct Action Day rio!s in Calcutta, & continued unabated for many weeks.

2/6 It was a series of organized mass&cres, r@pes, abduc!ions & forced c@nversions of H!ndus to Izlam; & looting & arson of H!ndu properties perpetrated by the Muzlim community (instigated by the Mus!im League) in the districts of Noakhali in Bangladesh (October–November 1946).
3/6
It affected areas under the Ramganj, Begumganj, Raipur, Lakshmipur, Chhagalnaiya & Sandwip police stations in Noakhali district, & the areas under the Hajiganj, Faridganj, Chandpur, Laksham & Chauddagram police stations in Tipperah district, spread across 200 square miles.
For those claiming that the term Hindu was coined in the British era, here is a piece of news from the ancient world -
The word Hi(n)du is mentioned twice by the Achaemenian emperor Darius (522-486 BCE) in 2 of his inscriptions dated 518 and 515 BCE. #CholaDebate @LostTemple7
Images: The word Hinduš is mentioned as one of 24 subject countries of the Achaemenid Empire, illustrated with the drawing of a kneeling subject & a hieroglyphic cartridge reading 𓉔𓈖𓂧𓍯𓇌 (h-n-d-wꜣ-y), on the Egyptian Statue of Darius I, now in the National Museum of Iran.
These two inscriptions prove beyond any doubt that the term Hindu existed in the BCE era, even before Alexander invaded India, and is NOT a British era construct.

Today is Mahalaya. Last day of Pitr poksha. During Pitru poksha, our ancestors (preceding 3) come from Pitr Loka (realm between heaven & earth) & stay with us. They are offered food & water for 15 days, while Tarpan & pind-daan are offered on the last day.
2/4 There is an interesting story in the Mahabharata that explains the origins of this pitr poksha.
After Karna’s death, when his soul reached Indraloka, he was offered gold & jewels as food. Surprised, Karna asked Indra why he was not being given actual food to eat.
3/4
Indra explained that in his lifetime Karna had donated a lot of wealth to needy people, but he had never offered food and water to his own ancestors. Karna justified this by saying that this was because he never knew who his ancestors were.
For all the Indian Muzlim men saying #Hijab is a choice of dress for women, & brainwashing Indian Muzlim women into thinking that hijab and burqa are their own choices, here’s what can be done. #hijabisnotachoice
The Hijab Series: What If, by photographer Boushra Almutawakel
Hijab was never a choice. It’s a religious dictate that will be implemented on all once Izlamists take control.
Any indian man or woman saying it’s a choice is fooling people. Period.
For smart Alecks who want to write hijab is a choice for M women & I shdnt comment :-
it’s choice as long as India is H!ndu majority. It’s will NOT be a choice under Izlamic rule 👇🏼
(ref to Akbar’s dictates on unveiled women : Muntakhab-ut-táwaríkh by ʽAbd al-Qadir Badayuni).
Hinduism vs Hindutva: The term Hindutva, coined by Chandranath Basu (1844-1910) in his essay Hindutva or the Authentic History of the Hindus (Hindutva ba Hindur Prakrata Itihas) in 1892, which when translated simply means the principles or essence followed by the Hindus. 1/3
2/3
The term tattva in Hindutva, as Basu had used in his other books, meant going back to the basic principles or essence, and he wanted a life for the Hindus based on ancient Hindu principles. This is same as what Hindu-ism means in English, & has been explained in the image.
Pls don’t fall for the very well planned propaganda to vilify Hinduism.
It is a well-strategised plan to create a division between the terms Hinduism & Hindutva, falsely marking Hindutva as violent. It will then be used to justify v!olence against H!ndus using the term Hindutva.
