There is lots of talk about how the #Twitter user experience may change due to recent "staff changes."

Here are 4 simple steps you can do right now to transform your feed into a calming & informative one, instead of leaving the platform.

Thread: 👇🧵
1. Install Twitter Minimal Theme

Minimal Theme is an amazing and simple Chrome extension or Firefox add-on to reduce clutter on your Twitter feed.

Helpful changes include removing "what's happening now," "who to follow," and reducing text on-screen

2. Mute algo-terms

Muting these algorithm terms will reduce the "served content" you see on a daily basis. Sort by latest for full effect.

Step 2 & 3 involve manually muting word-by-word and are the most time-consuming steps, but also the most vital.

3. Mute words, topics, and names you don't want to hear about.

This will obviously vary for each user, depending on what you use Twitter for.

4. Block accounts you consistently dislike

Often the debate about speech on SM is between "I dislike what this person is saying" & "They have a right to say it."

The third option's often ignored: if you dislike them or what they represent just stop giving them your attention :)
You have the power to choose what and who you pay attention to: reducing the frequency of negative content is a powerful & mood-boosting change.

Like fire, hatred without the fuel of attention is more likely burn out. Proactively controlling your own experience is a game changer

And let me know if there are other strategies you use
