ANCIENT GREEK EARRINGS SPECULATION TIME
So seeing this clicked something inside my brain. For a good while I always imagined all these earrings are the lobe type... (1/??)
Quick adventure to sort of figure out my personal artistic approach to ancient Greek marble polychromy. Something that's different from the recreations that a lot of folks tend to scoff at (as garish), and more like equivalent examples irl
I feel like the problem with many of these recreations is that painted statues are uncommon in everyday life, especially in the countries where museums are attempting these recreations (*cough US sometimes UK cough*). So they look odd. More so in sterile gallery environments
If you go to India or China or very catholic European places, painted statues are everywhere. And they don't look at all garish. (Examples from medieval Spain)
No one but us Asians, Europeans and Down Unders are around. Time for me to update this thread (after a 1 year hiatus)
The special surprise was the public debut of the @alekosromance twitter account! For all updates on the comic. Though with the way the algorithm works, I don't know how effective it is.
A thread on creating a story outline based on the Onion Method (one of many valid ways): (1/)
This is my own homebrew method of developing a story outline. The Onion Method is thus focused on graphic novels, but I hear it's applicable to other forms of fictional writing (prose, etc). The most important caveat is that it's best suited for character-centric stories. (2/)
The Onion Method is a outline method that consists of two major elements (Character-Driven Plot and Thematic Thesis) riffing off each other, producing multiple alternating layers in conversation laser-focused on the story's realisation. (3/)
